Make Search the default view for WebHelp/HTML5
Is it possible to make a Search page the default? Most of our users don't have a mouse and I was thinking that having Search as the default view might be the best solution, thoughts?

Depends what you mean by a "search page".
In WebHelp skin, you can make the 'search' accordion the default.
HTML5 help has a search bar in the header.
Or were you thinking about adding a large search box to the default topic?
(Which would require a little bit of scripting.)

The WebHelp skin sounds like what I was looking for, too bad it doesn't work for HTML5.

There's no advantage of WebHelp over HTML5 in this respect - the search is more obvious in HTML5 as it's visible all the time (in non-responsive mode).
This is the WebHelp skin, with the search displayed in the accordion:
http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare7/Default_CSH.htm?skin
And this is HTML5, with search in the header:
http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare10NonResponsive/Default_CSH.htm#&searchQuery=skin

What if you limit the side nav to just Search (on the General tab of the Skin Editor)? You can set Search as the default.
