Tables : which autofit behaviour would you recommend?

Morning all
I have relatively large tables in my projects and have been experimenting a bit with the autofit behaviour (I generate HTML Help). I have narrow it down to two possibilities, either AutoFit to Contents or AutoFit to Window and do not know which option would be the best.
I am thinking of implementing a setting for print option so that the width of these table is maximised on a A4 papersheet but this is not working particularly well as I think that these tables, when expanded, are too large for the paper width.

For my particular tables and on-line output, the visual difference between these two settings (AutoFit to Contents or AutoFit to Window) is not very significant.
I would like to know which table settings you experts would recommend for let's say, large tables, and why?
