Include downloadable PDF link in WebHelp TOC or Topic

I'm sure this is really easy, it's just eluding me at the moment. I have a PDF document I would like readers to be able to access from within my Web Help app. How do I do this?

Thanks,
Nancy

Re: Snippet Level Toggler Issue

So, I clicked on the MadCap Snippet block and then clicked Format>Group>Div... this enclosed the Snippet inside of a Div tag... Attaching the name to the Div tag worked! It seems very strange that all of the other instances of this are working, but I am going to change all of them in order to preven...

Re: Snippet Level Toggler Issue

I hope this is correct. The code for tables doesn't make 100% sense to me.... This is the code for the cell containing the toggler that only works some of the time... this code is from the snippet containing the toggler.... <td class="BodyF-Column2-Body1"> <p>Click the <strong>Find Employe...

Re: Snippet Level Toggler Issue

They are in the same project, from the same TOC; etc. using Flare 7.

A little extra information...

If I remove everything but the snippet block from the Topic that is displaying the snippet level togglers correctly, the snippet level togglers no longer display correctly....

Re: Snippet Level Toggler Issue

What makes this issue very strange is that I have done this same exact thing in several other snippets and topics... For whatever reason, this is the only topic that displays all of the snippet level togglers as expanded. I can't figure out if it is an issue with the snippet or the topic, or both......

Auto-Scroll Webhelp Display Upon Expanding Toggler Content

Scenario: The last element displayed on my webhelp page is a toggler. I have used the scroll bar to scroll to the very bottom of my page where this toggler resides in a collapsed position. When I expand that toggler, my page remains in the same "position" and I have to manually scroll down...

Need to Generate Braille Output

I have seen two posts that deal with the need to send output to some sort of braille printer... I'm just beginning to look into this so I know nothing about this at this time. I am shouting out to anyone who can enlighten me as to the following: 1. How is any Word or Webhelp output converted to brai...

WebHelp Skin Toolbar Icons

I want to customize the webhelp toolbar by changing the icons currently used. I have downloaded a different skin from the Madcap skin library (Robin), but I don't care for the icons included in that skin. The default incon set is o.k. but because my webhelp color paletter has changed, they no longer...

Re: Role-Based Access to Webhelp

Thank you for taking the time to assist me with this. We don't do custom coding for every client, rather we provide the client the ability to turn functionality on and off using flags contained in system tables. We also provide them with the ability to name some of their own fields.. again, I believ...

Re: Role-Based Access to Webhelp

There are two products I would like this to work for: One product is brand new (no clients yet) and I have been writing the documentation with the mindset that this type of role-based access wouldn't be possible. It is just basic webhelp that will show all available topics to everyone. And, without ...

Re: Role-Based Access to Webhelp

Thank you for your input. I am afraid we would have too many combinations to make the multiple output solution feasible for us as well... but I haven't really done the analysis yet. My guess is we could limit the number of outputs, come a little closer to what is desired, but still fall short... the...

Role-Based Access to Webhelp

Webhelp Navigation / Topic in TOC Multiple Times

I am having an issue with the navigating w/in my Webhelp. I have topics that I am referencing in more than one place, and I want to be able to control how the automatic "routing" w/in the TOC / webhelp navigation pane is done. I like that when I click on links within topics themselves the ...

Procedure Table Style with Auto-Numbered Steps

I have been scouring the forums looking for help with auto-numbering and can't seem to find what I need. I am writing procedures and have chosen to use tables instead of lists in order to include different levels of details in different columns and to include a result column. What I Need: 1. Directi...

Re: Hide Table Columns / Show Table Columns

Yikes! I don't think I have time to do all of that. Somehow my tables aren't formatted as simply as that... I have Column and Body not Column and Row... The Table Style Editor and I don't get along; let's just put it that way. I find it very confusing; it doesn't really make sense so I fumbled my wa...

Re: Hide Table Columns / Show Table Columns

That sounds a bit tedious up-front, but may end up working... if I could only figure out how to name each cell...
When I select the cell and select the Format menu, "Name" is greyed out... is there a trick to this?

Thanks!
