I'm using Capture 6.0.2, and I just tried the rotate feature. This steal appears to not be possible on the image itself.

Re: screen captures: how to get the best quality

We are in process of trying to figure out the best profile settings to apply to images from our pre-Flare documents that we are migrating. Most of these images came from Snag-it. What I'm quickly coming to discover, especially from this forum post, is that there aren't any "right answers" ...

Re: Installing Mimic 7

Were you able to solve this? I ran into an issue when I tried to select the HTML5 Property Option of MP4 Format, and MadCap directed me hear to install a free encoder: http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ I did that, but I have no idea where the ffmpeg file was installed, and so can't configure the opt...

Thank you! That insite is very helpful. I had not thought about users not having audio, but that makes sense since I only have audio with my headphones.

Do you use audio in your short tutorials?

My company is just starting to investigate creating short tutorials using Mimic, which we can make available on our Client Web site to help demonstrate common uses of our software. Because we only have one recording room if we want to record audio, and because having audio increases the production t...

Did you receive any feedback on this topic? My company is looking to start creating short videos for our client Web site, and we also are unsure of the best screen size to use. Any recommendations you have would be appreciated.

Re: Who's using Mimic?

Nick, thanks for your feedback. Our company also has Captivate, which is used more widely across our company. The writing department is just starting to investigate using Mimic; we have V7, and it looks like HTML5 is the best output option to choose in terms of mobile compatibility. We are looking t...

Re: Mimic evaluation

I am also doing evaluations of Mimic 7 to see if this is the right tool for our company. We are starting to think about generating quick videos that can be available on our client Web site, potentially uploaded to YouTube, and/or embedded in our help files. It seems like HTML5 is the best output opt...

Re: Setting table, chapter, and figure numbers in multiple PDFs

Thanks! This was really helpful.

Your post also helped me know to use the term "global number" in my search of MadCap's help, which got me to more information, including the proper auto-number formats to use with global numbers.

Have you figured anything out? I am having similar issues. I even go to the code and manually set the widths of columns to inch values, but when I build my target, the column widths are never what I set.

Why is New TOC a Copy of Current TOC?

Has anyone ever run across an issue where, when they create a new TOC based off of the Factory Template, that the new TOC looks like a copy of another TOC in the same project?

Operating System: XP Flare: Version 7.2.0 Issue: I left for the day, having closed down my Flare projects but not my computer. Re: miniTOC proxy formatting

I am having problems with my PDF table of contents. Headings at level 4 appear in a larger font, and larger line height. I have checked the styles for minTOC Proxy, as well as p.MiniTOC1-9.

I have everything set to be the exact same font and font size. Anyone have other suggestions?

Re: Equation Editor Headaches

I worked with MadCap Support, and they discovered that the reason fonts were not working is because you have to apply them through the style sheet. There is a style MadCap|Equation. Note that even with this style configured, I only saw the equation font change in the built output -- when working wit...

Page Break Jumps Cursor to Top of Topic

When we are working on longer topics, at the point in which we are typing and a page break occurs, Flare is sometimes jumping the cursor to the top of the topic. If we don't notice when this happens, the text we are typing continues at the beginning of the topic (in the heading). Anyone know why thi...
