Re: On the fly definition of variables as part of target building
Thanks for your responses. I have many variables/conditions that lead to the correct PDF manual. And @Rob, I have also thought about programming a script outside of Flare that sets the right variables/conditions. The advantage is that many Flare files are regular flat ASCII files. So, that will be t...

On the fly definition of variables as part of target building
Hello, Is there a possibility for Flare to "ask" for variable definition the first thing just after the target building has started? For example: 1. I start a PDF target building. 2. The first thing Flare must do is, asking me to define the variable "Main voltage". 3. I enter &qu...

TOC: Unknown TOC item in the table of contents
Hello, I have a struggle with an unknown/undefined TOC item in the table of contents. See the attached part of the TOC. TOC1.png The problem is the text/item "1 TOC" above the line. Changing the style for the TOC1 into Italic, change the belonging chapters to Italic. But not the text "...

Re: Content change management on equal topics in multilingual Flare projects
Trent, thanks for your answer. I do know what Lingo is and does. But what I ment to ask is a tool which only points me to the files that must be translated when I changed one source topic. Example: Next files must be equal (but in different languages) Dutch.htm = German.htm = English.htm = French.ht...

Multilingual same projects
like I said in a previous post, I'm writing same documentation in several (like 20 pcs.) languages.
Is there anyone who does the same in Flare?
Tips to handle this in the most simple way?
Eg. use "Global project linking" and maybe more?
Thanks in advance,
Henk Jan

DotNetHelp no longer supported in Flare 2019
Help!! after upgrading to Flare 2019 my targets (DotNetHelp) are no longer supported. I can't remember some kind of announcement about this (correct me if I'm wrong). Is it possible to downgrade to 2018 somehow, so I have some time to rewrite my Help from DotNetHelp to ..... ?? Besides that, I use t...

Suppression of pop-ups in .pdf
Hi there, I use 2 targets for one and the same Flare project. Main use target is DotNet help. In this Help I use popups. Second, I want to generate a .pdf from the same project. Popups do not work now and a error message pops up. Is there some kind of setting to prevent popups to become active in th...

TOC of pdf doesn't show all levels
good day,
Somehow I still can't manage to see paragraph/section second level (1.1.x) in the pdf TOC
I'm editing the styles p.TOC1 - p.TOC3 but that doesn't solve the problem.
See attached pic. Paragraph/section 2.2.1 doesn't show up in the TOC.
I'm a bit done now .... desperate

Thx ChoccieMuffin
I know that pdf doesn't support popups
I was wondering if Flare had some kind of setting that put used popups at the end of the pdf, so that they readable.

PDF target doesn't show text of popup hyperlinks
Hi I'm using popup's in topic's. The popup's are no part of the TOC (of course), but are displayed when mouse clicking in the target dotnet help. When generating target pdf, mouse clicking results in a message "Could not open ...." Is there a way to let the popup's be a part of the pdf but...

Multiple Flare session/instance running possible?
I have a single user version Flare local installed on my computer.
Running Flare, I can start another session/instance of Flare on the same computer.
Is this a correct way?
Because in this way it is easy to copy things between projects.
Or does Flare mix up things?

Re: Printing nested TOC
ok, thanks devjoe
I contacted Madcap about this and they admit that this question is asked more often.
It is passed through to the engineers dept. of MC, they will see to it.
In the meanwhile I create a .pdf of the whole project, to use aside the Help.

Re: Printing nested TOC
Thx. ChoccieMuffin
but that would mean I have to redesign my complete project
I thought that somehow common use of a TOC is to right click a chapter and to choose print only the topic or all underlying topics as well.
Pity.

Multiple Flare projects
Hello,
maybe I described my problem wrong in previous posts, but does anybody here has to handle multiple Flare projects?
And I mean, equal projects but different languages.
How do you manage them?
Do you use some kind of program, method or ... to keep track?
Curious for ideas
