I reached out to Flare Support and found somewhat of a solution - delete the Analyzer folder from your project folders and see if that improves matters. it did for me.
They also suggest cleaning out the CatapultMDIEditor. I have not done this yet because I still have work I want to do. Quote ...

Re: Turn OFF Track Changes. NO TRACKING please
That is definitely still a bug. I think that's worth reporting. If we both do it they might pay attention.
This is a problem that was solved by others a long time ago. Can't believe this is an issue.
Logged it. Wow, even that is painfully slow. Good ol' ASP .NET. #NOTIMPRESSED

Re: Turn OFF Track Changes. NO TRACKING please
I wish that worked. Accepting all works, but then turning off Show Changes and then turning off Track Changes completely after that does not work. Changes still get tracked in text mode

Turn OFF Track Changes. NO TRACKING please
I've had issues with this for awhile. Changing settings in the GUI such as Show Changes and disabling Track Changes does not turn off change tracking. Look at the HTML view and it's loaded with change codes. Then I still have to go back and Accept All. I know this must be a factor in why my system ...

Re: CONSTANT hanging using Flare 2018
Is anyone else experiencing non-stop penalty holds while using Flare 2018? Almost every 30 seconds to two minutes, Flare will hour-glass for anywhere between a few seconds to a minute or so. It is borderline usable at this point. I am working with a tiny project, my system resources are plentiful ...

Re: Soft returns in Flare Text View
No, of course that's going to be helpful. Appreciate it. Odd thing is, the copying and pasting is being done strictly within the same document. Nothing coming in from outside *sigh*

Soft returns in Flare Text View
I love working in Flare's text view and do so whenever I can. I'm running into an odd problem!
Flare_text_view_soft_returns.PNG
After a certain point in my document I get what appear to be a ton of soft returns which render my text view unusable.
XML view works fine.

Error messages from what looks like a CSS misconfiguration
I'm getting these error messages and I'd like to eliminate them:
CSS: Missing linked stylesheet file:///C:/Users/Resources/TableStyles/component-def.css
I know that there is NO SUCH folder location for this and that's why I'm getting these. I didn't set this up myself so I'm not exactly sure where ...

Re: Receiving "Missing File Link for TOC entry" messages
Solved the problem! I found that having two files in a containing folder with two conditions applied to them confused Flare. My conditioning logic is firmly "Anything that is specifically excluded from this product version, excluded using THIS TAG ONLY." I broke that rule for two files. Sigh. Only ...

Receiving "Missing File Link for TOC entry" messages
(SOLVED THIS ISSUE!!!) The full warning message is: "Missing file link for TOC entry with System.LinkedTitle variable."

Messages don't give me any further guidance after the docs build, and there aren't any broken xref indicators in the TOC before or after build.
No indication ...

Oh, thank you both for your responses! I'll let you know what I find out!
I'm not totally new to CSS, even editing CSS in Flare, but this is something I'm not familiar with, so this is great.

Kind of a dumb question...
I have a large collection of page breaks that my predecessor applied to documents that I am now in charge of. Many appear as "avoided page breaks" with a small icon at the top left of each page. I cannot delete them no matter what I do, they do not appear in Text Editor mode, and I cannot find any ...

Re: Damn you Font Awesome
Speaking of FontAwesome, I inherited an existing setup that evidently uses it, and whenever I run a docs build, I get this message:
"https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.1.1/css/all.css Line: 5. Char: 2046. Missing left brace ({)"
Anyone know what's up with that?

Lightbulb moment.
In the XML Editor you need to ACCEPT or REJECT the changes, then turn off Track Changes. By accepting or rejecting a change you remove the crud in your text editor for that change. Work through the topic and accept or reject each change then save. I bet all the crud in the Text ...

No 'Instructions' as such - just a huge head section with information similar to the following:

Even after disabling Review -> Track Changes and disabling the Review -> Show Changes check box, nothing changes in the Text editor view, which is where I prefer to work. Here's an example of a change for a single space character:

To Irenep:
This is actually under Point 7 in my original post. Disable the Primary Target's Advanced "Generate resized copies of scaled images" setting and that should get rid of those bogus file names.

Re: Sudden font substitutions in lists with no CSS changes
It turned out to be quite simple. Somehow, the UI had failed to keep the Stylesheet Medium default under the target's Advanced page, which is (Default). Nothing was selected. Changing this to (Default) caused the font issue to magically vanish.

It has the table and td classes for nl_1_nmbr_list_1 *only* (the classes have no formatting at all - just the open and close braces)
and neither for nl_nmbr_list.
