I just purchased Flare 9. I need to come up to speed very quickly, but the next 4-day training isn't for a month. I will gladly train myself. Is it possible to obtain the materials used in the Basic/Intermediate class? Otherwise, can somebody recommend a decent book I could use?

Thanks y'all. Since uninstalling is not an option for me, and a problem with .NET 4.5 seems to be a recurring theme, I have submitted a bug report. It is Case 46877.

Is uninstalling the only way to tell if the problem is .NET? Gary, were you having similar issues to mine?

I have .NET 4.5 installed. I have to have that version for the product I'm documenting.

I am using the trial version of Flare 9 on a Windows 7 computer with 4 gigs RAM. The first day I installed it, I launched the program but was promptly taken away to work on something else, so Flare sat idle for 2-3 hours. When I did try to use it, it had hung and I had to use Task Manager to kill it ...

Can I place condition tags on page breaks? My document paginates funny depending on the graphics a version uses.

I have set pdf Options for Navigation and Magnification, but would like to set additional options for a 2-page view. Does anybody know if there is a way to do this? If not from Flare, does anybody know if there is a launch command for Reader that would set this option?

I'm trying to do this with a polyline. I can't figure out how to select a single node of the line to move it. Is there a special key combination to select a single node of a line?

I am making callouts that consist of an unbordered label and a 2-segment line that points to the item in question. The lines typically extend left to right and make a 90-degree turn to point up. The "up" part can be very short, and so frequently comes out crooked or leaning slightly left or right ...

I am having the same problem, but I only have text in my headers. My headers are something like:

CompanyName
__________________________________ (that's just a long line of underscores)

PageNumber - ChapterName

I just took the line out, recompiled, and my headers are back. Maybe that will help ...

My document had page layouts with headers. Previously when I compiled it, the headers were where they should be, on the appropriate pages. Suddenly they are missing. I have had this happen a few times now, and can't figure out what is causing it. I select some text across several paragraphs that have different styles applied to them. I reassign a single style to the text. After this I am unable to select anything with my mouse. I can navigate the document and ...

I was afraid you were going to say that. There are a lot of styles to scroll thru and Flare keeps telling me that they are inherited, so I can't delete them. So I'm off to fill out that feature request. Thanks for getting back.

I should probably have added that I suspect this is going to be another of those tomayto/tomahto questions that I'll be asking while I learn the language of this software. Forgive me while I stumble about.

Is there a way to select non-contiguous text? I have 200 pages to go of style reassignment on an imported document and would like an easier way than selecting and changing styles one block at a time. Suggestions?

I didn't find any local formatting on the text, but I did create a new topic, pasted the unbound text in and reassigned styles in that topic. That finally worked. Your suggestion did give me the great direction to apply styling locally until I got the result I wanted, then apply those settings to ...
