I did take care of the problem of making the styles show up in the Navigation Pane. I used wclass' macro and simply added those styles to it ;) Thanks again Margaret!!
But I still wonder if Flare can be set to use a specific Word template for output?

Force Flare to Use Specific Word Template for Output
It seems there should be something within Flare that tells it what Word template to use on my PC. All of my Word output comes up as "Compatibility View." I would like the output to be in the current Word version (2013) with a file extension of ".docx" and use the settings I configured in my Normal ...

Anybody have a cut/copy/paste problem?
For the longest time I could not use the cut/copy/paste commands in Flare. I wasn't sure it was just Flare because I seemed to remember it happening in another application but usually it was happening in Flare. Very frustrating. I'm in Windows 8 too so between cussing out MS and Madcap (sorry guys ...

Terrific Nita! That was just what I was looking for. And yes, I'm "that" KJ :)
Amazing how I can waste so much time trying to find something that should have been so easy. But try to search for something like that 8) "New Topic" isn't quite what I want. "Mark as New" didn't even find it. Oh well. I ...

Nita,
I'm so busy I haven't even had time to check back since I posted that! Thanks for saying Hi! Yes, I met you and you encouraged me to look for or start a user group in my area. I haven't even had time to look for any users in the area. But I will, honest.

Mark New Topics For End Users
This is hard to find in a search so forgive me if it's been answered before.
I know years ago we could mark our new topics with an icon in the TOC. That made it easy for the end users to find new topics but they were still in their normal TOC location so the context was easy to see.

Does anyone know anything about this question? I have the same problem. If one trajectory is incorrect and I fix it, a different trajectory also changes and I start playing "whack-a-mole" trying to fix everything!! It's driving me crazy! Mimic v6.0.0
Thanks

Re: setting same condition for multiple paras in the one topic
I had a similar question that was answered at the Roadshow ;) I knew you could apply a condition to a single word yet the only way I knew to apply a condition tag was to right-click the "blocks" and select the conditions option. Here's what you need to do:

Re: Repeating a table caption when table spans multiple pages
Mike Hamilton covered this in the Roadshow I attended on 5/10/2012 in Philly. Unfortunately I can't remember how it is done. There is a lot of information in those Roadshows! Anyway, there is an answer to this and I will post it as soon as I find it unless someone else can answer it now

Margaret - You are a genius! I used your code on a raw Word output file from Flare and it worked perfectly. Much easier than my method

Thank you Dave. I didn't see that "Font" control in the Heading for the table stylesheet. I guess I'm looking at too many different things.
One more question (for now anyway.) I have separators set for the rows and the columns as well as the Header and Footer in the TableStyle.css. I also set an ...

Table Style Questions
Why does Flare change my Topic Stylesheet to the table stylesheet I use in the topic? I thought the table stylesheets are applied only to the tables and the rest of the topic uses the topic stylesheet. (I'm having trouble getting my tables to look right and I figure this all has something to do with ...

New Stylesheet Created with Every Word Doc Import
Let me say first of all that I'm still learning Flare so I hope everyone will be patient with me ;)

Thanks for your help! I have a feeling that what I want to do isn't available. Can I embed an object such as a Word doc?
Does anyone know if this is possible in Flare 7? I want to add some extra files to the Flare project and allow users to see them as icons (Word, PDF, Excel) in the ".doc" file. Re: Heading Styles in Word Output are Wrong
I found the problem. I was looking at the styles in the Default medium and I had to look at them in the Print medium. There they were! And then I could only change the imported style after I changed the Flare-provided h2 style. But I think it's okay now!

Heading Styles in Word Output are Wrong
Heading 1 is bold, all caps, has a border and fill. It outputs correctly.
Heading 2 is bold, small caps, no border and no fill. It outputs as bold, italic, with a border and a background color that is a different color than Heading 1.
Neither of these formats is in the template for the output Word ...

Lisa, that worked! I used one space and it looks much better.

Thanks Laura! I should have mentioned that I tried to do it in Word and couldn't fix it there either
