Please post your build log so I can see what's going on. I find it odd that you aren't getting publishing saying it failed because of XXX reason.
Alternatively, you can build the target, go into your output folder, and use Windows explorer to move it to your server.

Don't confuse xml with html/ css.
Anything prefixed with mc is xml and a transformation applied at build time. While the source content will trip up other applications that do not know how to handle the madcap xml, the output is fine.
At no stage did I discourage you (or anyone else) from using ...

Re: Bi-Directional (Two Way) Arrows?
You can make a new palette, open up the arrow you made in Photoshop in Capture (I like PNG files), select the area in the editor, and then add it to your palette. Better yet, you could add slices for customized arrows.

Re: publishing to Production not updating/publishing
I've seen it before. A SME said updates I applied were not present after I published it. I saw no errors in the log indicating the publish failed. When I verified this, I could see the updated content on my workstation's browser. Long story short, It ended up being the cache on my SMEs browser not ...

Using Regular Expressions (REGEX)
Hello,
I thought I would share some advanced techniques I use to be more efficient in Flare through the code. Some of these tools are already built-in, but using the 3rd party application named Notepad++ (an open source tool) allows us to create and apply macros in text, which is disabled in Flare ...

Re: Procedure numbering: autonumber and <p> tag vs. <ol> <li
Madcap can't add enhancements to tags that are controlled standards. The use of CSS should be limited to the industry standards.
Are you talking about the same controlled standards that they added to every other tag that has "mc" in front of it? In fact, every "mc" style in the stylesheet editor ...

Re: Procedure numbering: autonumber and <p> tag vs. <ol> <li
I disagree that using paragraph steps are superior than ordered lists. I believe the benefits of using ordered lists include:
*Using tabs in the list automatically adjust the style and numbering system type, which is familiar to writers (MS Word Style)
*The writer can nest different list types in ...

Re: Flare 10 released
Check this out. In my footer, we have a condition set for "Confidential" and "Internal Use" documents for the print output. They want this to be red. The page layout has a regular table where I set the color inline. It doesn't matter how I do it, the last color of that character will follow after a ...

Nita, you are the best in the world! This is exactly what I was trying to do. The {paranumonly} was something I didn't even think of. I owe you one!

Duplicating Figure Captions with Counter
Has anyone experimented with linking or duplicating figure captions using Flare counters? For example, I use Figure {chapnum}-{n+} for the figure captions. If our writers want to talk about that specific figure caption in a paragraph, we have to manually reference it. They are literally begging for ...

This needs to be bumped because I cannot find it either. The glossary definition is in there.

Re: Can't turn off hyphenation in lists
Is it showing up on your print output? Sometimes your editor will show the hyphenation and when you generate your print output, it will not hyphenate. Well, this is what I use and my lists don't show hyphenation.

Hi Dave, it worked like a charm. The TOC books were causing the issue. Much appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate your reply. At least I know where to start looking. They actually allowed me to work on this for a little while so I think I may finally get this to work.

Re: Fonts not Listed
MadCap support said this issue has never been seen. All of the registry mappings are correct and the fonts are present in the XP control panel. I suspect is has something to do with an Adobe installation but I am going to have IS upgrade to Windows 7. That should fix it.
Thanks for looking!

H1 and TOC depth for heading levels
Is it possible to use a different Chapter H1 headings when use TOC for depth heading levels is on in the print target? I was told to use it but I am learning that when someone requests an appendix, adding a class still reverts back to the parent. I just hope I don't have to completely restructure ...

Fonts not Listed
Anybody see this before? I only get five fonts available in Flare 7. I have to go into the XML of the topic and replace them with what font I want. It does this in the CSS style sheet too. I just wanted to know if there is an easy fix for this before I reinstall Flare. Nobody else has this problem ...
