Hi all,
I apologize up front if this has been covered before. My searches did not turn up anything--most about InDesign as a target. In any case, I am wondering if there's a path to import InDesign files to Flare. I know it's not a standard way to go, but is there a way to do it? I'll need to ...

Re: PDF - bold / not-bold backwards in output
Hi Marjorie,
Thanks for the thoughts on the matter. I'll provide some more info. First, the issue does apply to literally all instances, so far as I can tell (it's a large doc), of text. Headings that are bold are not bold, and body text is bold where it's not supposed to be. And bold text that's ...

PDF - bold / not-bold backwards in output
Hello,
I'm having trouble with some PDF output. The entire document is reversed (backwards) regarding bold text. If it's supposed to be bold, it's not. If it's supposed to be normal, it's bold. Any suggestions on where to look or what to try?
Note that in HTML5, the bolding issue is not present.

Project Analyzer - can Flare check for accessibility?
Hi folks, I'm aware of Madcap Analyzer, but I'm asking about built-in functionality with Flare. I could have sworn that I had seen Flare check for alt text before, or offer that possibility, but now I can't find it anywhere. Is there any way to check for basic accessibility features without Analyzer ...

Question about left margin in webhelp output
Hello, I have a question about the left margin or spacing between the left navigation section of webhelp and the topic content--basically, how close the text is to the left edge of the topic area of the page. Is there a single place to adjust this, or do I have to adjust each and every style ...

Topic margins in mobile output
Hello, my topics in Mobile Webhelp output are showing up with the text butting up right against the edge of the screen. Is there a way to make a global change, perhaps in the master page or elsewhere to allow a little white space on each side of the topic pages?
Thanks for your help!

HTML5 output, Current Topic Index missing
Hello, I'm building HTML5 output, and in the Skin editor, I have selected the CurrentTopicIndex to show up. It shows up in the preview. But when I build the help output, it does not show up. What am I missing?
Thanks,
J

Re: HTML5 output is "blank"
Thanks for the suggestions. Although it wasn't MOTW, as it turns out, it got me looking around in that area. It actually turned out to be the flag for Do not use "Content" folder in output. I had that selected, because I see no need for the extra folder, and SEO is important to this project ...

Re: HTML5 output is "blank"
As a follow-up, I've now also tried a completely different server, with the same result.

HTML5 output is "blank"
Hi all, I just upgraded fully to Flare 8, opened a WebHelp project, and set it up to output as HTML5. The output looks/works fine locally. However, when I post it on a server, the pages are blank. Topics are empty, TOC is blank, etc. The "frame" (I know it's not really frames) is there as are the ...

Master page, stylesheet, and lowercase problem
Hi all,
I'm having an issue with a WebHelp project. I have the target set to make all file names lowercase, a requirement for our server. Everything worked fine in the output until I applied a master page. With the master page applied, all of the files and folders that are usually lowercase are ...

Re: Home link preceding breadcrumb trail
Is that so? Not even in the masterpage? Couldn't you put the breadcrumb proxy into the 2. column of a table and the homepage link into the 1. column?
Or into separate divs with making the left one "float"?
I was able to put the BC proxy in col 2 and homepage link in col 1. But I couldn't get them ...

Re: Home link preceding breadcrumb trail
Thanks Leon. I appreciate the information. The challenge with that type of navigation, and no option to add "home" (or similar), is external search. If a user gets to the topic via external search, such as Google or the search built into our customer's website, then the user will have no context ...

Home link preceding breadcrumb trail
Hello, I'm new here, so many thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I found some info using search, but the only solution offered did not actually work. Here's the scoop:
- I have a webhelp project about a dozen level 1 books, and a "Welcome" topic for the home/splash page.
- No trouble ...
