Hi!
We're currently in the process of moving from Help & Manual to Flare, which means that we have to redo the stylesheet. Are there any best practices to this activity? Also, does anyone have any experience with doing this? I noticed that when the chm file is imported into Flare, there's alot of ...

Find and Replace Window
Hello,
Something happened in my instance of Madcap Flare v6.1.0, where now if I click the Find and Replace window, I get I have been throughout the forumns and I cannot find a similar issue. If anyone can lend a hand, it would be much appreciated!

Using fields to track updates
Hi,
I've got a rather large, printed manual (approx. 600 pages). But the users shouldn't have to re-print the whole thing. The goal is for the users to only print the updated sections. Does anyone have any suggestions on tracking updates in the project? I'm not sure what the best solution is ...

Header frame alignment
Hi,
I've got a page layout with 3 pages: Left, Right and Title.
I have created mirrored headers for the left and right pages. The left page header works perfectly, but in the right page header I've experienced the following:
1. The text lose their styles and when I redo the styles (specifically for ...

Word output preserve heading information
Hi,
Is there a setting that will cause Word to retain heading information? I am trying to upload an output to a wiki, the upload splits the topics based on headers, but apparently the Word doc doesn't contain any? This doc is approx 159 pages, so going through all the topics and adding a H1 setting ...

Re: Images not manually resizing
Fought with the mc-thumbnail styles for about 2 hours until I discovered that the Show All Images as Thrumbnails tag was checked. Unchecked the tag and now everything is good. That was annoying.

Images not manually resizing
For some reason, my print image style switched to thumbnails. After I finally fixed this maddening issue, I find that now I can't manually resize images. They just snap back to full size. I'm assuming this is either a project setting (?) or a style setting, but I can't figure out how to get back ...

Build Not Responding
I have a large project which was building fine and then all of a sudden, Flare can't build. The build process gets to "Copying selected files" and then starts displaying the "Not Responding" message in the window header.

Associating styles and Master Pages with a target
Hi,
I'm trying to develop a series of targets which would be customized per client. I'm playing with having multiple stylesheets associated with multiple targets (stop me if this isn't best practices).
(I copied from existing to save time). But I now have a customized target which is using the ...

Re: Printing from WebHelp with thumbnail images
Hi Suze,
Setting the print for each screenshot seems like a huge amount of work. Any chance you've been able to fix the print size in the image styles?
thx,
B

Re: Different Set of Images for Different Targets?
Then you insert that snippet into at least 5 different topics, right?
The opposite. There is 1 topic that I want to reuse for all targets. The snippet will probably end up containing an almost unlimited number of conditioned screenshots. Personally, I don't think this is a truly scalable approach ...

Re: Change size of Related Topics popup
If this issue is still causing you sleepless nights :D, I think you might find some success in the stylesheet. I was playing with the MadCap|relatedTopics style.
In the Unclassified properties, there are 2 properties: mc-popup-height and mc-popup-width
I think applying some values will resize the ...

Re: Different Set of Images for Different Targets?
Hi,
I've read and re-read this thread and seem to be missing something. I am building a help system where the target will be approx 15 customized outputs based on 15 unique conditional tags (i.e. per separate customer). So, I'd like to be able to re-use pages from the main project template. Here's ...

WebHelp and IE 8
Hi,
Has anyone experienced trouble with Webhelp not displaying correctly in IE 8? If I try to open a webhelp build in IE 8:
1. The browser opens but all I see is 1 page with XML tags.
2. I click the menu bar to allow pop-ups.
