Yes, then I'm doing the "termA" with definition "xxxx" in rev1 and "termA" with definition "yyyy" in rev2. It seems that if I have both rev1 and rev2 glossaries in a project then I get errors and issues cropping up, even if I condition the target to only use rev1 or rev2 (but not both).

I assume you're using a page layout (flpgl) and not a master page (flmsp).
Did you verify in the page layout that the variables match exactly (case, etc.) with the page layout open (press F2 to edit the section)? I know this is a general troubleshooting tip, but just checking in case. I had this ...
