I did not think about exporting to another format. Help & Manual can indeed export to CHM, so that would be a good test. Thank you again for the suggestion!

Re: Converting Help & Manual Project to Flare Project
Thanks ChoccieMuffin.
We are planning on merging the CSS, and that work has already started. We are removing as much inline styling as possible. Any that need to remain at this time we know we will need to reformat in Flare once the files are moved into Flare. My main question is; is there a ...

Converting Help & Manual Project to Flare Project
We have recently merged two different documentation groups from two different sections of our company. The other team is currently using Help & Manual to generate it's help systems and PDF guides, whereas our team has been using Flare. We have decided moving forward, that we will all be switching to ...

Re: Show/hide nav panel function in HTML5
Your code worked great - thank you so much!
Just so others know: I used the jQuery code since we had already included jQuery in our project.
Thanks again!

Show/hide nav panel function in HTML5
In the HTML5 skin there is an arrow bar that when clicked, toggles the "showing/hiding" of the navigation panel. Does anyone know the name of the function that arrow bar is calling? Our team has been asked to include a topic page toolbar button that performs the same functionality as the show/hide ...

Re: Skin Editor - Options are Missing - How Can I Restore Them?
Nita,
Yes, I am aware of the little arrow toggle, but it isn't sufficient enough for our users. We have to use a platform called TeamSite for publishing, and when we do so, the small triangle on the nav pane toggle disappears, so in essence, it doesn't really look like it is a control. To ...

Re: Skin Editor - Options are Missing - How Can I Restore Them?
I am not well versed in JavaScript, so please forgive my ignorance. I am wondering if one of you might be able to provide me with the code for adding a navigation pane Show/Hide toggle button to our HTML5 webhelp skin. I know how to add an additional button, but I don't know what the JavasScript ...

Re: Print a single book from a multi-book online help system
Hi Lisa,
That is exactly what I had suggested to the team, however, they want to be able to just print a book from the navigation pane instead of opening a PDF and then printing it. That is why I asked if maybe it could be done using JavaScript.
Thanks
Candee

Print a single book from a multi-book online help system
We have a unique issue that I am hoping someone else on this board may have run into before, and who can offer a solution.
We have a single online help system that includes several main books. The books are, User, Reports, Administration, and Installation/Upgrade. Each book includes many related ...

Re: Adding community software feedback code to a project
Actually, the Flare online help has the solution. If you add the JavaScript code to the Masterpage, the feedback (in our case a tab) displays on every page in the help system. Maybe I should have spent a bit more time reviewing the online help system before I posted here!

If this does not work in Chrome, then we can't use it because quite a few of our customers use the Chrome browser.
Does anyone know of a JavaScript solution that works across all broswers? We are in desperate need of being able to provide our users with a way of printing a single topic ...

Adding community software feedback code to a project
Hi,
Does anyone know if you can add the JavaScript code for feedback community software (we are using Get Satisfaction) to a project so that when you generate an HTML5 output the Feedback iframe is available from all pages? I was thinking that since you can add JavaScript code to the Toolbar ...

Re: Convert WebHelp to HTML 5
In HTML5 output, you can create custom buttons for the toolbar on the Toolbar tab of the Skin.
1. Open the HTML 5 skin that you have created, and click on the Toolbar tab.
2. At the bottom of the Available column are two buttons - the first button lets you create (add) a custom toolbar button. The ...

Re: Solution for printing an HTML5 topic from IE8?
Dave Lee: Your tip on adding a new toolbar button and assigning the topic.focus(); topic.print(); event worked great! Thank you so much!
Side note: I do not know if it works in IE8, because after frustration set in yesterday, I downloaded and installed IE9 and it overwrote my IE8 install, so I ...

Re: Solution for printing an HTML5 topic from IE8?
One of my co-workers was going to contact MC about this, but I have a feeling it is IE because I just downloaded IE9 and I still get the same results, regardless if I am using Print Preview or actually printing the topic. I was not aware that Print Preview in Firefox gave the same results. I guess ...

Solution for printing an HTML5 topic from IE8?
Does anyone have a solution for printing an entire topic (not just what is visible in the browser window) when using IE8 to view HTML5 output? I have looked all over this forum and did not see any solutions, so I am hoping that someone has already implemented a solution, maybe using some JavaScript ...
