Re: Automatic Styles in Condition Tags?
I think I may have a solution without going into the CSS. (I tried the CSS first without success.) You will need a UNIQUE conditional string to pull this off. For example, we have our version conditions in a separate condition file called Version_Conditions, as opposed to Target_Conditions, and Audi...

Select Bookmark dialog box shows incorrect hierarchy
When I open a file to select a cross reference, Flare does the right thing connecting the link to the heading or bookmark. However, the hierarchy of headings does not always make sense. Do I have some coding cleanup that would fix this, or does Flare need to check its tree structure in this area? Se...

Re: System out of memory exception error popup.
Here is an update for August 2012. I get System Out of Memory errors. Sometimes I have a lot of other programs running on the laptop and the project builds without problem or error. Sometimes I have only Flare running and I get the System Out of Memory error. This is particularly maddening when you'...

Re: Is it true: Dropdowns cannot be kicked out of PDF?
Check out how we do our drop downs: http://documentation.ektron.com/cms400/v8.60/Reference/Web/EktronReferenceWeb.html#Cloud_Manager/Cloud_Manager.htm The drop down text that you see is conditionalized for online output only, so it doesn't show up in the PDF. (We use our drop downs in Mobile format,...

Re: Crop behavior change from Capture 5 to 6
Here's the thing: you may be able to get by with older versions of Word and FrameMaker, but if you want to take advantage of some new industry-leading features, you should get onto Madcap Flare 8.0 - it is worth the upgrade. The Quick Access toolbar feature is very handy (like pinning programs to th...

Re: Crop behavior change from Capture 5 to 6
I found my license information for Capture 5 and reinstalled it. I wasn't hallucinating.

Re: Crop behavior change from Capture 5 to 6
Here is a Capture Region image with the anchors, to which I am referring. I used to have this in cropping in Version 5. At least now I think I did. I may have to go back and install V5 to see it, but otherwise it is a false memory!

Re: Crop behavior change from Capture 5 to 6
See image. Oops I didn't crop the bubble text properly!! (It is hard getting a screen capture of a screen capture program!)
In Version 5, when I let go of the crop band, I got anchors that I could use to resize the red crop box to the exact pixel.

Crop behavior change from Capture 5 to 6
Cropping in Capture v5 would rubber-band a crop area and let me adjust the edges with anchors before setting the crop. This was particularly useful for delicate cropping, and 1 pixel can make the difference between a clean crop and a poor one. In Capture v6, I have to rubber-band the crop area succe...

Re: HTML5 Glossary Issue with Internet Explorer 8 and 9
I'll answer my own post! My IE9 browser was in Compatibility view. It should not be. Here is how to fix the issue: 1. Press F12 in your IE9 browser. A settings menu bar appears at the bottom of the browser above the tabs. 2. Set Browser Mode to Internet Explorer 9 (not Compatibility view). 3. Set th...

HTML5 Glossary Issue with Internet Explorer 8 and 9
I like the way glossary terms pop-up in bubble help on HTML5 output (instead of clicking to see the bubble help in the Web format). However, I have discovered that Internet Explorer (8 and 9) rendered the background color of the bubble invisible, and the white text of the bubble help can only be det...

Re: Convert WebHelp to HTML 5
Can you give me an example in Step 8? I created a Home button and a Help button (maddening that these aren't available to me), and I want to display a page in the project when I click on the button. Sounds simple but I don't know the code. (Putting a URL in the Click field doesn't do it, so I need a...
