Re: Positioning a responsive design header background image?
Yes, I added the BackgroundPosition property in the .flskn file manually, before creating any output. That put the graphic in the corner where I wanted it, but only for the "desktop" size browser window. By using the "Inspect Element" trick, I figured out which of the output Stylesheets I needed to ...

Positioning a responsive design header background image?
Hello! I'm looking for a way to place a branding element in the "responsive design" header background. I'd like for this graphic to stay in the right top corner of the browser window no matter how much that window gets resized.

Problem inserting rows in a table!
Hello! I'm editing content in a 2-column x 8-row table. When I place the cursor in a cell and select Table > Insert > Rows Above, I get a new row cell in only one of the two columns - the next column seems to have a big space above the existing content, but no new cell or borders there. I've used ...

Re: Crash when a single word is selected?
I'm still trying to figure out how to use this tool, and working my way through the intricacies of XML classes is a new proposition for me. Upon further review, the much easier way to get what I originally wanted - to change the color of some of the sample code text - is to select the text and then ...

Re: Crash when a single word is selected?
Interesting. I had tried to create a #cdata class called CodeGreen, and in the CSS it appeared as a class of #cdata. So you're saying I should have been able to create that class, and in the process might have found a bug? Maybe I'll try it again now that I know how to fix it.

Re: Crash when a single word is selected?
Problem solved: somehow when I was trying to create that alternate text color style, a style that began with #cdata was added to my main project stylesheet. I found this by opening my main stylesheet in Flare, and I immediately got a similar error message - "# character cannot be included in a name ...

Re: Crash when a single word is selected?
Nope - no effect. Didn't seem to hurt anything else, though. Thanks for the tip - could be useful if weird stuff happens again. I've got a support request in to MadCap - we'll see if they know what's up.

Crash when a single word is selected?
Hello! I'm almost finished with a 120-topic Help system. I've just added a couple of topics that have some sample XML code, and now Flare crashes whenever I select a single word. My original intent was to figure out how to change the text color for a few words in the sample XML.

Re: Placing sample XML in a Flare topic?
Aha! Looks like wrapping the sample XML content in the CDATA tags does the trick.
For those who are following along at home: place "" immediately after the opening
tag, and place "" immediately before the closing
tag. Works for me and looks like this:
<pre class="Codeblock ...

Nope - no effect.crdmerge wrote:What if you remove the xml:space="preserve" from that pre tag?
I can see how creating a separate topic file for just this XML content could work, but it doesn't seem like you should have to leave the API topic page just to see a few sample lines of XML.

Re: Placing sample XML in a Flare topic?
@ Lisa - Yup, the content is in a <pre.codeblock> section:

<CaptureInfo>

<FilePath>/My Documents/Sigcap.jpg </FilePath>

Placing sample XML in a Flare topic?
Hello! I'm a Flare n00b (been using Flare for 2 weeks now) with a sample XML question. I'm working on an API document and need to place some sample XML in a topic. However, Flare seems to think that I'm trying to create a new XML document, and when I try to save the file I get this error message ...
