Re: Build error (BoxLayout): Table header too large
Thanks for the reply doloremipmsum. The thead doesn't have multiple rows but there are several columns in all, with some cells spanning multiple rows and other spanning multiple columns. I think you suggest a good strategy, but this table covers 12 pages altogether so I fear it would take a very lon...

Build error (BoxLayout): Table header too large
Hi folks We have an issue that's repeating in the same Flare project for different PDF targets following the departure of a colleague (and with her the knowledge of what to do about it). ID 10009 Table header is too large to fit on page 12. Content may overflow. Subsystem = BoxLayout. The first time...

Preparing DITA to import into Flare
Hi all We're currently using Flare 2020 r3 and, thinking about some future requirements, we're considering whether it is possible/workable/not horrifically complicated to generate Flare source files from DITA source using a highly customized DTD and a highly customized Flare CSS. Does anyone know of...

Re: Flare 2019
what about the lack of control over the appearance of equations since the era of LaTeX?
I like LaTeX but we can't specify the font etc for equation text any more, we could with MathML.

Re: Equation-related Error processing SVG file
Thanks Feebeegeebee I already had Java/JRE down as a possible cause. I'm checking with the build team whether there have been any updates to the build agents. I'll forward them that other thread as a poke to remind them to check.

Equation-related Error processing SVG file
Hi folks We're still on Flare 2017 r3 (don't ask) and I've just had a couple of automated builds fail in the last week, both with the same error: Processing topic: FILENAME.htm Error processing SVG file In both cases this was while processing a (different for each failure) topic that contained equat...

Re: Flare 12 links in masterpage head not getting into topic
by "doesn't work", I mean that I think there's a bug somewhere with my custom miniTOCproxy styles. With the CSS specified in the target and other CSS linked from it I get a Topic.css file containing this (my custom miniTOC style is called MS and is defined in a linked CSS): div.MCMiniTocBo...

Re: Flare 12 links in masterpage head not getting into topic
I'm currently battling this again because it seems that Edge on Windows 10 x64 1709 doesn't load linked CSS files on FILE protocol: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/17981647/ so linking my CSS together doesn't work and trying to load them all individually into the...

Re: Advice: Flare 2017 R2 TopNav with TOC on left
Hi Dave I've had an hour on the phone with MadCap support and basically there's nothing to be done for our TOCs in frames or proxys using Flare 2017 R2. The only recommendation they had was to stick with 2017. There's a big feature request for a left TOC for TopNav that they've added my support call...

Advice: Flare 2017 R2 TopNav with TOC on left
Hi folks We've recently used Flare 2017 to implement a responsive help HTML5 output for access over FILE protocol that uses the masterpage to add a left-hand iFrame that is populated with a menuProxy that contains a TOC. This provides a tripane-link view so that the TOC is always displayed. However,...

Re: Can't get Index proxy in Responsive (or any HTML5) outpu
no, we discarded this attempt at Responsive and started over. We ended up not delivering an index. I think they only way to do it would be to have a page in the content with an index proxy in it.

Re: IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem
No, its not a merged cell that's the problem! Its displaying like a merged cell over several rows but it isn't its just a standard table, the HTML is in my original post: <tr class="TableStyle-accl_shaded_header_table-Body-Body1"> <td class="TableStyle-accl_shaded_header_table-BodyE-C...

Search filter reporting
How can you make the search results report include the name of the filter used? Like: Your search for "material" returned 1192 result(s) from "All Topics". or Your search for "material" returned 132 result(s) from "Administration". Is there a variable I can se...

Re: IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem
Dave: yup tried that and the table cell that's showing as being "short" that those either side is indeed that size according to the dev tools:
I worried briefly that that valign="top" might be involved but removing that doesn't help either

Re: IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem
Thanks Rene.
I'm using Flare 2017 and that's what it produces. I removed all formatting a re-applied it and for some reason it gave me a table style definition like your this time. But even with that its still suffering the same issue.

IE11 and Edge responsive layout table problem
We've implemented a custom responsive layout and sometimes when we resize IE11 or Edge the table display breaks, when a cell wraps text so that it goes onto an extra line, the previous cell in the same row doesn't resize properly with it. This is on FILE access with MOTW and everything configured pr...

Hi folks. I'm in the process of implementing a custom Responsive layout and I have a search filter set defined. I'm using Flare 2017 BTW. The flsfs file has entries like this: <SearchFilter Name="CASTEP" Comment="" Concepts="CASTEP" Order="5" /> But the HTML g...

Re: Styling equations in Flare 12
Both MathML and LaTeX. I got a response from Support:: Thank you for contacting MadCap Technical Support. The issue lies with the third-party system we use on the back end to render equations. We went to a different Equation Editor with Flare 12 for more flexibility when inserting equations, but we ...
