Re: Sequence contains more than one element
I ran into this issue after moving files around in the Content Explorer (even though I know better  ). Here's my fix, using Central: 1. Rename existing project folder on my hard drive. 2.Import the project from Central. 3. Using Windows Explorer, copy files from backup project. I suppose you c...

Commits have a timestamp, but I wonder if pushes do as well? I have (problematic) writer who claims they've been committing every day. But when I look in Central I don't see their commits. After bringing this to their attention, suddenly their commits appear. My suspicion is that they make commits, ...

Server Hosted Logos
I'm trying to figure out the best way to implement the company logo from an outside source into the toolbar of a tripane WebHelp output. Currently, I have a blank image for the logo and a Toolbar.htm file set up with this style in the header: #ToolbarButtons { background-image: url('https://static.c...

Re: Flare on a Mac
Thanks for the blog, Nita. I've just been informed that the whole company is switching to Mac and running Flare was my first concern. Judging from your blog, it's not an issue.

Re: Source Code Formatting Puzzle
I'm not sure what you are doing to check XML in Notepad++ I'm using the UniversalIndentGUI plugin, which has a Check XML Syntax feature. I found that if I used the Pretty Print with Line Breaks feature, the formatting carried over to Flare. Strange that doing manually didn't. Anyway, problem solved.

Re: Source Code Formatting Puzzle
Thanks roboHAL, but I'm still confused. When I run a check on XML syntax in NotePad++, I get no errors. Where is it that I've strayed from the path?

Source Code Formatting Puzzle
The home page of this project has a grid of nine tiles, each linked to a topic. For some reason, Flare puts the source code into a single line, making edits very difficult. When I open the file in NotePad++ and format the code, Flare changes it back to a single line again. Any ideas as to why? Forma...

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but take a look at ChoccieMuffin's post on using sub-project folders in the Content folder here.

Same Content, New Design - Best Practices
For the first time in my career, I'm working with a Design Team. Why a company would not want the Help to look like the application it's supporting is beyond me, but the money's good. Anyway, this Design Team gets a new inspiration about the time I finish implementing the last inspiration. My questi...

Re: Help with jQuery code?
I did something similar to this with reload ( Reloading The Page ). It's not jQuery, but might give you something to build from. I also had a design that called for the Search Bar to be hidden until the icon was clicked (why people insist on hiding things from users is beyond me). I'm wondering if y...

Tripane Nav Radius - Solved
Flare 12, HTML5 Tripane I'm trying to set the top-right radius of the navigation pane, but I'm unable to find the setting. I have the tab settings at zero and here's the output: tripaneNavRadius.png I've tried using the Navigation Panel Border settings, but for some reason there is no response to th...

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Thanks again, Dave. Forgive my ignorance, but I wonder why we can't have a TOC proxy that functions like the tri-pane skins? Edit: One thing I needed to add to the CSS is .menu so I could set the background. I was able to set the hover and active backgrounds, but could not find this setting. Otherwi...

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Ok, I got it. Part of the issue I was having, and still haven't resolved completely, is the Menu Proxy was set to Context Sensitive. Once I cleared the check box the menu displayed properly. However, the specifications call for a collapsible menu, i.e., Context Sensitive. Any recommendations for mak...

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Unfortunately, the only way I can get the menu to work the way I want is to manually add the topics of the modular projects to the collective TOC. Maybe when I am not under a deadline I can experiment with merging. I still have five more modular projects to add, they just aren't ready yet.

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Thanks, Dave. Unless I misunderstand the concept, I am not merging projects. Also, I'm using a Top Nav skin. The menu displays correctly on the collective project. The problem only exists with the modular projects within the collective project. When importing image and media files, those files are i...

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Me too. :D Here's another one for you: My MasterPage has a Menu Proxy, and I made sure all the projects have the same MasterPage and Skin for the menu. When I build an output for a single project, all is well. However, when I build the collective project, the menu does not display. When I look at th...

That's what I'm after, thanks! I put in a feature request for selecting a target folder when importing. But your suggestion is a nice workaround (better than renaming files).

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
I tried moving everything into folders so there were no topic files at the Content folder level, then importing a project. But when I moved the imported files to a folder, the link to the source project was broken. When I built the output, Flare re-imported the files to the Content folder. It appear...

Re: Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
Thanks for the suggestion. When I add a folder to the Content folder, Flare wants to import the files to the Content folder even though I have the new folder selected. I tried exporting the sub project into the main, but the topic files do not appear to be linked to the original project.

Importing Projects Results In Duplicate File Names
I have a Project Template that I've been using to build Help projects for a suite of applications. Now they want me to build a master catalog of these projects, along with some other documentation, for training and reference. The issue is that each project has a home.htm, gettingStarted.htm, release...

Solution: I needed to add CDATA tags. /**/ var acc = document.getElementsByClassName("accordion"); var i; for (i = 0; i < acc.length; i++) { acc[i].onclick = function(){ this.classList.toggle("active"); this.nextElementSibling.classList.toggle("show"); ...

Invalid Syntax With JS Accordion Menu - SOLVED
I found this really simple accordion menu that was perfect for my project: w3schools.com . I added it to my MasterPage and all was well until I put the JavaScript in: var acc = document.getElementsByClassName("accordion"); var i; for (i = 0; i < acc.length; i++) { acc[i].onclick =...

Re: Glossary - Case Sensitive Issue with File Name
That works, too. Thanks! Flare's Help mentions using this feature in UNIX environments as they are case-sensitive. I suspect this explains why I didn't have an issue on my hard drive, but only from the server.

Glossary - Case Sensitive Issue with File Name
I have an issue where the source file name is glossary.htm, but the output uses an upper-case G. Subsequently, the TOC link results in a page error in the server environments, e.g., QA, Staging, Production. Strangely, the link works on my hard drive. I'm trying to understand how the file name is bei...
