H1 margin-top beginning a page
Pardon the basic CSS question. I'm a newb.
Is there a way to make an H1 have less margin-top when it is the first heading on a printed page? I'd rather not create an H1 class to achieve the behavior. I'm trying to keep our list of tags as short as possible.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Capture V6: Recipe for a line with a dot at the end
Are there any line ends other than arrows? I am trying to use arrow properties to create something, but the controls are insane and I can't quite create a perfect circle as a line end.

Re: Strange lodger in my Pending Check-ins list
Hey Matt, If you have TortoiseSVN installed (and you should for cleaning up all of the little things that Flare's SVN client doesn't do well) right click the folder and select TortoiseSVN > Unversion and add to ignore list ; then choose the recursive option in the resulting list. Check in the change...

Re: Strange lodger in my Pending Check-ins list
Hey Matt, All you need in source control is the Flare project file, Contents folder, and Project folder. Anything else will cause these issues. I would unversion the Analyzer folder (and the Output folder if you have it in source control too). I find that you'll eventually get similar problem files ...

Re: Flare 10 and subversion: slow check-in, check-out, sync
Check outs are worse for us in 10.1. It takes about a minute for a single file to check out and for Flare to become responsive after the check out completes. For our writers who have work a long distance from the SVN servers, the performance is even worse.

Re: Flare 10 SVN performance
SVN performance just got worse after upgrading to Flare 10.1, despite being listed as an improvement in the installer notes. Checking out any file in a small SVN bound project now takes about 30 seconds. After the checkout, we get the black screen of waiting (BSOW), and not responding messages for a...

Re: Flare 10 users — How's it goin'?
I'm happy. We needed responsive online help and now we've got it. We also had an enormous project (imported from Frame) that Flare's never really been able to handle. Using the export feature, we were able to divide it into two smaller projects that Flare plays with nicely. We had been putting off t...

Re: Text rectangle border
I figured it out.
The image background was transparent and transparency in any Capture element (text blocks, for example) seems to cause problems in Adobe Reader.
Under File Properties > Appearance, give the image a solid background and this ghostly line goes away.

I see this artifact in my PDF targets, whether I set the border to zero pixels, or one pixel, color matched to the white background.

I am not sure how realistic your URL example is, but in my environment, I cannot omit the www or the .com.
We use URLs, rather than SVN addresses.

Re: Subversion: Existing Files Show as Pending Add
Thanks, Nita! I have been over-complicating this.
I also see this problem less in Flare 9. In our environment, the problem seems to be concentrated with writers who check files in and out less frequently.
I am obsessive about it, so I very rarely see the problem.

Subversion: Existing Files Show as Pending Add
One of our authors noticed that every file in his project suddenly showed up as "Pending Add". We've seen this happen many times before and I fear the consequences of checking in the pending adds. I fear we could overwrite work. When this happens, I generally tell folks to delete their wor...

This happens to me too. Only setting a background color works for me.
MadCap support gave me this workaround. Whether they call it a bug or "works as designed," I am not sure.

Re: Large Table Causes Flare 9 to Hang
D'oh! I didn't think of that! (KEEP IT SIMPLE SERVOBOT!) I just tried copying/pasting directly from Excel. The paste resulted in a line per table row, wrapped in <p> tags. There were no table tags and no column separators seem to have been preserved. Maybe pasting into Word and importing it as a pro...

Re: Flare v8 Memory Leak and the New Flare v9
I use Flare 9 and I experience similar problems when building PDF targets from large projects within Flare. I click Build in the target, an hour or more passes and then I get and out of memory error sometimes followed by a crash. The only workaround in this case has been using madbuild to build my t...

Large Table Causes Flare 9 to Hang
I need to make a table out of some content in an Excel file. I saved the Excel file as CSV, and then I imported it into Dreamweaver as a table. Finally, I pasted the resulting HTML into Flare's text editor. Now, Flare becomes unresponsive for 20-30 minutes if I do anything to the file. Anyone else h...

Re: Scrolling from Topic to Topic Based on TOC
In Flare, not the output.
In Frame, if you page down through the end of a chapter file, the next file in the book (for Flare, this would be my TOC) opens automatically. I'd like to see similar behavior in Flare.

Scrolling from Topic to Topic Based on TOC
Is it possible to configure Flare to automatically open the next or previous topic based on a selected TOC?
This would be very useful and I have not figured out to do it.

Re: Project Files Disappearing in SVN Working Copy
I looked through the history of the FLPRJ file that disappeared. The morning that my working copy of the file disappeared, a coworker checked in a change to the FLPRJ file, right before the disappearance. I reiterated to the team (up to five people can be working on this project at any given time) t...

Project Files Disappearing in SVN Working Copy
We use the Flare SVN Client in Flare 9.1.1. Every now and then, our *.flprj files just disappear. Until now, it's happened to users where I assumed user error might be to blame. But during the last couple of days it happened to me and another writer who tend to understand SVN better than others. Whe...

Re: Subversion 1.8 Released June 12
Hi Rob, Thanks for this update. I work in an enterprise environment where tool changes are glacial. Our SVN team finds a version that works and we stick with it. I am concerned that at some point Flare may adopt incompatible DLLs in its integrated client. For example, we are still using SVN server 1...
