error when resolving links in output files for Clean XHTML
Flare terminates the build when I try to run a Clean XHTML target. I can't find a log file to debug the problem. The only clue is the message just before the build terminates, which is "resolving links in output files..." I have done the usual things: Deleted the Analysis folder, repaired ...

Links not active in Word Export
Hi,
Most of our Flare links are MadCap Xrefs. When we export to Word, these links are not active.
Q1: Is this expected behavior?
Q2: Is there a way to mitigate this?
Q3: Is there a way to convert Xrefs to hyperlinks across multiple files in a TOC?
Thx

Xref to lower-level heading in a topic
Hi I'd like to create an xref format that includes the title of the target heading, not necessarily the first instance of that heading. Flare generates a bookmark for the selected heading. But the text is always the first instance of that heading, from what I can tell. For example, suppose I have a ...

Re: Add Custom Content to Header
Solved! I missed the second page of this forum thread that solves my problem. As Pamela explained: clear check box for "Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target" - if this box is checked, then the skin created in step 4 is omitted from output, which results in the ...

Re: Add Custom Content to Header
Hey folks, I am implementing Dave Lee's well-documented approach to customize a tripane header. For some reason, the Title does not pick up the skin.css for style or positioning. The title is flush left and obscured by the logo. Any ideas why this is not working? I followed the instructions and used...

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"
Hi folks We are running Flare 2017 and are seeing this bug a lot. I found that if I use Windows to delete the Output folder entirely, it fixes the problem, albeit temporarily. I have tried the Clean Project command too, but it cannot delete everything for some reason. It appears that the same files ...

Re: Getting ErrorID=-1 Publish skipped: No destination selected
Update on this command line publish error: MadCap should implement a -buildOnly command line option. Problem : From my testing, running Flare from the command line automatically builds and publishes . There is no way from the command line to disable publishing. So, when you run a build process from ...

Re: Getting ErrorID=-1 Publish skipped: No destination selected
Is that error stopping anything? When you build using Flare, it will generate errors and warnings, but the warnings also appear on the Errors tab. I wonder if the ErrorID="-1" is how madbuild differentiates a warning from a real, full-stop error? I get warnings all the time because I have...

Getting ErrorID=-1 Publish skipped: No destination selected
Hi Anyone know what might be causing this error? It is happening for HTML5 and PDF outputs. Below is the PDF example, the the HTML5 looks the same. We are building from a shell script using the command line interface. The main project is using Target subfolders: P rojects/Targets/Mobile-Targets/* We...

Importing EclipseHelp?
We have content authored in both Confluence Wiki and Flare. Ideally, we want to export Confluence content to a viable format that can import to Flare dynamically (via a build process). I have experimented with exporting as HTML and Word from Confluence and importing to Flare. Works in general, but t...

Re: Generating a Sub-TOC on a page?
Thanks!
Yes I think this is what we need. In fact, I almost titled the post as Mini TOC instead of Sub TOC, but figured that might be confusing for some. Glad to see this is natively supported in Flare.

Generating a Sub-TOC on a page?
Is it possible to use navigation or related topics to dynamically create sub-TOCs on a topic page? For example, assume the master TOC is this: Parent Topic 1 Child Topic 1 Child Topic 2 Child Topic 3 Parent Topic 2 ... Can Flare generate the sub-TOC and insert it onto the Parent Topic 1 page like th...
