This is also happening in topics that have links to bad bookmarks.

Re: Flare is putting: /**/ /**/ between script tags
I figured out what is cuasing Flare 3.1 to at the /* characters surrpounding and inside the CDATA tag in the script references. All of the topics that have this problem have Madcap keywords defined in them.
Here is the code of a topic that contains the keyword
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8 ...

Hi,
Its not the that is causing the problem. Its when flare adds those comment lines /* around it and inside of the CDATA that is causing the problem. Flare is not doing this to all of our topics just some of them. So, for example, most of our topics look like this:

Hi Lisa,
thanks for your reply. We are generating WebHelp via Flare and then using those HTML files for our Eclipse help plugins. The Eclipse help viewer does not like those characters -- when we perform a search, it is showing those characters in the search results as the title of the topic ...

Flare is putting: /**/ /**/ between script tags
I have read the other posts on CDATA, but my problem is a little different. Flare 3.1 is also adding /* in this tag. Where is the /* coming from? Did Flare 4 resolve this issue of adding CDATA to things? We can't upgrade until after my release.

So you are saying Flare doesn't support IE?

Why doesn't Flare add meta tag inside
tag?
We are finding that some of our characters (like em dashes, copyright symbols) are displaying as garbage characters in our WebHelp HTML output (as shown in the Eclipse help viewer, which is based on IE). In order to resolve this, I am having to add the following line just following my
tag ...

Re: Flare 4 - new TOC attributes in WebHelp's TOC.XML ?
We are creating Eclipse help from the files that are produced from WebHelp. One of the files we use is the TOC.xml file in DATA folder. We run a script against this file to rearrage the tags that Eclipse TOC requires. It would be easier for us if there was a way (some setting somehwere) to have ...

Hi,
I have just installed Flare 4.0, I have tried generating the XHTML output. What this produces in one long HTML file containing all of my topics. I expected it to produce separate HTML files for each topic. It also does not produce a TOC that I can find? I am not sure of what use this XHTML ...

Flare 4 - new TOC attributes in WebHelp's TOC.XML ?
Hi,
I just installed Flare 4 and generated WebHelp. I noticed that in the TOC.XML that is generated, there are new attributes:
<TocEntry Title="Meta Catalog" ComputedFirstTopic="false">
<TocEntry Title="Concepts" Link="/Content/html/Concepts.htm" ComputedResetPageLayout="true ...

Re: DTD declaration
Thanks Paul. Yes that XHTML output will probably be a better choice for our Eclipse help in Flare 4. When is Flare 4 coming out? I heard this Fall? Won't help us for this release, but next time.
Also good to know that changing the DTD in the output won't hurt us!
Thanks again,
Rhonda

DTD declaration
Can someone explain why MadCap is using a different DTD declaration than the standard?

This is causing a problem with searching our .htm files in Eclipse help. If we change the DTD declaration to:

Thank you, yes. I checked the output folder and the
tag is there. It is using the content of my h1 tag, which is what I want.

tag?
I have noticed that new topics I create in Flare do not contain a
tag in the header. Topics that I imported from RoboHTML do have this tag. I think this is a pretty standard tag type and is used to display the title of a topic in a window, for example or is displayed during search results ...

Re: Flare is adding relative paths to external topic hyperlinks
You could try inserting the link as a link to a web page and specify the URL.
I worked with T.S a bit on this today. This is one of the things we tried. It didn't work. I am not actually trying to go to a Web page. I am linking to an .htm file outside of this project. The workaround was to insert ...

Flare is adding relative paths to external topic hyperlinks
Hi,
We have links to topics outside our Flare projects. To insert the link, we use the Insert HyperLinks Dialog box, select External Topic and then type in the the following path:
/help/topic/com.openedge.pdt.getstart.help/html/copyright.htm
After I generate the WebHelp, and view the source for ...

Re: Using variables as TOC label
We are using RoboHTML X5. The titles in RoboHTML X5 do have some sort of variable in place -- we are using a template on Robo, so I think the title is setup that way by default. Anyway, I will work with support on this (once we get our licenses in house). Rhonda

Re: Using variables as TOC label
That's part of the problem. This variable is not in any variable set. It was created by Flare during the RoboHTML project conversion, but it did not add it to any variable set. The only set I have is the Primary one and the only two in there are the companyname and phonenumber variables. This seems ...
