Hi Jason,
Yes, I had that in my CSS. I tried yours anyway, because I was using {para} instead of {paratext} , but I get the same results. And as I look more closely now it's not just the table contents it's putting into the cross reference text, it's the text in the entire topic, including the ...

Captions, cross references, and page breaks for tables
Hi Everyone,
Here's my issue: I want to cross reference to table captions. Tables have the <caption> tag, so I figured this would be easy. Drop in a bookmark and cross reference to it. However, the cross reference fills in the entire contents of the table in the cross reference link, because I want ...

Re: Flare Icons in Output
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the reply. I'm on v7 and outputting WebHelp, so maybe that option isn't available. I'm not seeing it anyway.
I've been deleting these images manually, but we're sending our project for localization, and I don't really trust the localizers to delete these files even if I tell ...

Flare Icons in Output
Hi Everyone,
In my WebHelp output I have three MadCap Flare logos in my Skin/Images folder. There's one each for WebHelp, WebHelp Plus, and HTML Help. Seeing as how I'm not documenting MadCap products, I don't particularly want these in my output.
However, I can't find any setting within Flare ...

Re: Old Image Used in Capture V5
Sorry Nita, don't know where I got Beth either.
Thanks for your reply though. Sometimes it's nice to know it's not just me and others are frustrated with an application as well.
I think Capture has a lot of potential as a product, just wish MadCap would dedicate some time to make it work well.

Re: Old Image Used in Capture V5
Thanks both for your replies. Steve, I don't see a retake option in the Capture help. Maybe it wasn't in v5?
Beth, your solution sounds almost as bad as mine. Mine is shorter though:
1. Delete both the image and props file.
2. Start over.
That was meant to be a joke, though the joke is probably on ...

Re: Dynamic "Tailoring" of TOC
The only method I know that gets you anywhere close to what you're looking for is to merge your outputs. Basically this involves creating separate TOCs for each output you want users to see. Then you merge these all into one big help system, which you can do manually or have Flare do automatically ...

Easy, right?
I agree that using Bootstrap would be a lot of work, but it may be interesting to play with. The more I look at that page, the more I see that all of the structure is there, just none of the content. They must be pulling in the content using JavaScript?

Responsive HTML5 Output
Has anyone experimented with attempting to implement "responsive" design into their HTML5 output using something like Twitter Bootstrap, etc.? For those who don't know what I mean by responsive design, see the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsive_web_design . But basically it's ...

Re: drop down CSS classes
Thanks for the info, something I'll have to keep in mind if we ever upgrade Flare. It would be nice if MadCap would keep in mind that users are going to create custom classes for these MadCap: tags, and that they should make an effort not to break those styles when building the output. I can think ...

drop down CSS classes
Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to apply a class to a drop-down text box, but I'm having some issues. What I'm trying to do is create a special class for some drop-down text boxes because I want some drop-down text areas to look different. So I created a class for the dropDown like this, which seems to ...

Re: Continue Sequence Error Question
Hi Judy,
I don't think you're understanding what my issue is. I'm not doing anything with the bullets. But the fact that they exist is messing up my other numbering because Flare is too stupid to tell the difference between a numbered list and a bullet list. That's the problem.

Re: Continue Sequence Error Question
Hi Judy,
I've used that method for setting up captions, but I don't think I have to set up auto-numbering for lists that are made up of ol and ul html tags. Flare already numbers lists appropriately without having to manually set this up. I wouldn't even know what an auto-number for a ul tag would ...

A simple rollover is easy enough to do with a CSS style. Just google "css image rollover" and you'll come up with many different methods for accomplishing this effect.
