Re: Auto-remove broken links from output

I haven't looked into relationship tables but may need to. Any time someone asks us to generate a new PDF document using existing content this becomes an issue. What should be a matter of a few minutes making a new TOC becomes a huge headache of going through and seeing what links need to be removed...

Re: condition tag background color not appearing

In the topic editor, click the Show Tags icon (looks like <t> )and select Show Conditional Indicators. Apologies for necroing an old thread but thank you! I just reinstalled Flare on a new computer and could not figure out why conditionals were no longer showing up. IMO this should be toggled on by...

Re: margins on nested lists

You might want to try padding-left. For example: ul, ol { padding-left: 30px; } You don't need to apply it to each nesting level. If you style ul, it will also style ul ul and ul ul ul. The other thing to look at is whether your lists are nested inside a div or paragraph that has padding on it. If y...

Re: It's almost 2019, why is nth-of-type not supported?

Thanks Steve. I've done that, but was hoping to get some more comments or suggestions by others who would like to see this working correctly. Maybe I'm in a minority of users who prefer maintaining their own stylesheets outside of Flare.

It's almost 2019, why is nth-of-type not supported?

So nth-of-type selectors work just fine in HTML output because it's implemented by the browser... but Flare itself has zero support for it, either in the preview or in print/PDF output. Can we get some love here? I would really like to replace the bulky Flare table stylesheets with more concise CSS,...

Re: Specifying the language in the <HTML> Tag for Accessibil

I think a lot of us would like to see this change to tripane. If we set the language for the project, it should set it in the html tag for the entire project, not just for the iframed topics. Don't think this is an issue in top nav since there aren't any iframes to worry about.

Re: Top nav flyout menu expands off the screen to the left

I'm having the same issue, only to the right. Spent a couple minutes poking around the JavaScript and it looks like it's not evaluating the width until the second time you hover over an expanded element. Weird. Wish I knew more about debugging to try and figure out what the issue is. It only happens...

Re: Using a ditaval profile to generate conditional output

I'm wondering this too... I don't understand why Flare can't be configured to produce DITA output using regular conditionals, as well. I get that DITA has its own way of handling conditions, but there's no logical reason why Flare can't generate the DITA output using its own set of rules.

Re: Using Flare with JIRA and Dev Wikis

I too would be interested in this capability. Currently we have a release note filter in JIRA (pulling the release note from a custom field) that we export into Excel and then copy/paste into Flare. Our engineering team wants the ability to kick off a build in Jenkins, call Flare via a script, and h...

Re: Bottom border of tables that break across pages in PDF

Oh. You are awesome. I do almost all of my stylesheet editing in notepad++ so was not aware of that option. It wasn't set for the default media, but had somehow gotten in there for @media print. Problem solved! Thank you!

Bottom border of tables that break across pages in PDF

When I have a table that breaks across pages, the bottom border of the table is not printing on the pages where the table continues onto the following page. How can I specify to include this border at all times when the row is not broken? Thanks.

Flare browser/editor fonts on Windows 8

I just moved from a Windows 7 machine to a Windows 8 one, and noticed that fonts in the internal Flare WYSIWYG editor look very different. I'm just using Arial for our HTML5 output. Underlines (various styles have them at various line heights) are appearing shifted up, sometimes even through the bot...

I'm going to make it my mission to bug MadCap until this is fixed. I'm going to be their biggest PITN ever over this issue. Mind if I join you? This isn't an issue for me anymore as I found someone else (using this forum!) who had converted the Myriad Pro font family. So all I did was uninst...

Re: Flare 9 buggy as all get out. You too?

I work in web layout most of the time and have not seen any of the text issues you mention. I have noticed that inserting rows into really large tables in the WYSIWYG editor takes... next to forever. I try to work in the XML editor when I need to add or paste large amounts of data into a table. The ...

Re: Forward/Back buttons in HTML5 stop working on some topics

Forward/Back buttons in HTML5 stop working on some topics

In my HTML5 output, I have two topics where the forward/back buttons do not work. I can hit forward multiple times to browse through the topics, including the broken topic, but once I get to the broken topics neither forward nor back does anything. The only thing I can think of that these topics sha...

Re: Table formatting

I find it's helpful to set up classes for certain table formatting that I want to use across multiple tables. For example, you could have a tr.gray for gray rows, or td.indented for indented cells. Might be easier to do this than to use local styles for everything, especially if it's a large table o...

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts for Applying or Unbinding Styles?

1) Select the table rows and columns. 2) Right-click and select "Cell Content Style." 3) Pick the appropriate style (in my situation, it was <td>), and click OK. All table cells now are formatted with the base style. OMG, thank you. I have a massive table full of <p> tags to convert.
