Hi all - 4 years later...
I got this tip from MadCap but have not investigated myself if successful. Someone want to try? Drawbacks? (originally we wanted help to have a stop list for other languages)
Background info:

Re: Client side search when different language
So no one is translating the web help to other languages?
I understand you because its not at all optimized for this.

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
What echopraxia said.
We have a working TOC navigation in flare 8 for our project so this is only negative for us.
Im trying to convince my boss not to move to 9. This is a drawback.
And prettify the url or obfuscate is only a workaround, and a bad one. Extra steps that I have to take.

Re: Flare 9 optimized for Google, really?
So I'm guessing they're saying that Google is using the URLs in the TOC instead of the direct URLs, so when Google fashions a response, it's returning the URL as it's constructed in the TOC.
That's my guess anyway.
Yes
Thats the big question....
However I think Im under wrong impressions ...

Some of my phrase searches in the WebHelp output are not being found. Having read this thread http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=10840&p=61622&hilit=search+phrase#p61622 - which led to the install of Dave Lee's plug-in (thamk you very much, Dave) so was not wasted :) - I am ...

Re: Flare 9 not building Japanese and Chinese correctly
Honestly, I don't know how the search is working. The release is currently being reviewed by our in-country reviewers. I will ask them specifically about search and let you know.
Do you know the implications of no stop list in other languages?
It means that those words is being ranked.

Re: Flare 9 optimized for Google, really?
As for the TOC not being loaded when entering a topic from Google... You pointed to a WebHelp topic opened via CSH; that's the way it's supposed to open, unless you specify a skin in the URL, which that link didn't. However, the topic does have a link at the top that says "Open with navigation ...

In my Help ToC, I had a "Concepts" section.

Client side search when different language
Hi Guys and girls
Do any of you use the webhelp translated into other languages?
What are your solution regarding stop list / Exclude list on those languages for the search?
Have you considered it, did some work around, or you do not use the flare search at all?

Hi
Flare 9 says to be better for Google optimization. http://bayimg.com/BAlbHAAeO
But can anyone confirm that it still has the issue with the TOC, (Default.htm#) not being loaded when entering a topic from Google? (look here, you dont get the TOC directly(flare 8 though) http://webhelp ...

Is flare seach considering meta keywords?
Hi
I can see that meta name="description" is taken into consideration when doing a flare search, but is meta name="keywords" used by flare search engine?
Cant find any info in help section. I don't want to use invisible words as it is a Google 'no-no'.

Re: Search in WebHelp - some issues with returns
You'll probably find that happens when the phrase includes words like "to" , "and", "is" - which are called 'stop-words' in Flare.
By default, Flare doesn't include 'stop-words' when it builds the search. Therefore, you won't get any results when searching for those words individually or as part ...

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to have Flare's search index PDF content?
You should be able to do that using WebHelp Plus.

Hi how exactly does the search rank work in Flare?
