Center justify entire HTML5 site

I'd like to be able to serve up a narrower page (say a total with of 60 em or ~960 pixels) and have the entire site centered in the browser. This is for the HTML5 output with TOC on the left. So instead of being left-justified, the entire site is center justified. I've messed with max-width and a ma...

How do you add snippets to an existing project?

I'm new to Lingo and I created a test project and machine translated it into three languages. It's worked out great—I was able to publish the multi-lingual Flare site—CSS styles, JavaScript, TOCS, it's all perfect. BUT . . . when I created it, I only imported HTML files and filtered the rest out. I ...

Odd tags in Lingo - <MTLINGO type="" prevchar="s" . . .

Hi All! I'm new to Lingo and am creating a sample multilingual site as a proof of concept. I've been somewhat able to Machine Translate our English-based Help site into Chinese, French, and Spanish and publish Flare output that works beautifully (Thanks to Madcap, not me!). Language picker works gre...

Excluding the Index page from Google Analytics

In our use of Google Analytics, we have hits to the Index page, which makes sense since it handles all traffic coming from the app that we have our CSH help associated with. And those hits are for 2 to 3 seconds as the page redirects to the appropriate topic. I see that you can exclude URLs right fr...

Re: HTML output that mimics the book

It sounds like it would be a lot of work and IF you were planning on combining pages (topics) into one page so that you'd have a similar output as a book, you might be able to use snippets. Either way will have you going into each page but here's what I'm thinking. Open each topic, select all conten...

allow thumbnail to show full-sized image bigger than browser

I have images set as thumbnails using the default Popup behavior. This works very well and is a nice time saver. However, I do have some app images that are much taller than a browser that I would like to show at full-size. Having scrollbars appear is totally fine and needed in this case. But the Po...

Re: Snippet within TD makes table wider than page

Two cents on the LI element. It's not illegal, per se, to not use an OL or UL to wrap list items, it simply means you're leaving it to the browser to interpret the LI tag. This is unpredictable (and various browsers render these slightly differently anyway, much to our chagrin!). =D In addition to O...

Re: Images not working correctly on one topic

I came here with a red X issue but mine may not be from images or tables (I've not yet figured it out). It's affecting dozens and dozens of pages. However, I wanted to toss in my two cents on the span tag idea. First, I'm glad you figured that out as a workaround - that's some seriously creative pro...

Re: Creating a Snippet from a table!

This same issue continues today in Flare 12, a table within selected content dims the snippet button. As a work around, I create a snippet with the text preceding the table (that's how most of our content is - text, tables, more text, etc), then go back and cut the table from the content and paste i...

Re: url path to table stylesheet inserted into table tag

I have a similar issue to which I can't find an answer. In my case it adds quite a bit to the tag: It should be: 'Resources/TableStyles/CRSTableStyle.css' But come back as: ../../Copy-Rate-Level-Profiles.htm .fltrev/Content/ Resources/TableStyles/CRSTableStyle.css Any insight would be great - thanks...

Re: Google Chrome bug?

I have similar issues with Chrome 47. All our body text behaves like a link (in that it has a hover status turning it MadCap green!). Also, our table headers have a hover behavior. o_O I tried the fixes from this thread to no avail and will wait for a patch from Flare which is the best way to handle...

Re: HTML5 output in Action!

. . . do they simply alter existing skins or do they get into the scripts that generate the skins? I can see that some are obviously existing skins with custom color schemes, which has been my approach so far. But I've run into this a couple of times now, where I wanted to tweak the skin, such as a...

Re: adding CSS properties

Thank you Lisa, I will try adding those to the XML and see what happens - I would tend to think it will update it in Flare as the XML is probably what populates the editing window.

I'll update here when I do - thank you for the insight (and confidence). =)

Re: adding CSS properties

Thanks Lisa! hmm, that is what I am doing but it sure would be nice to have within Flare. Let me ask you about the global modification you mention. If I were to take a file, such as Header.css which I have modified, and ovewrite the one in the program files, would I be able to see that in Flare? Lik...

adding CSS properties

I'm new to Flare but our company is not. After a call with MadCap tech support, it seems that it is not possible to add additional properties to CSS objects. I can hand code CSS and have done so for our latest venture into mobile help, but that means that every new MadCap build also needs to be edit...

Here's an example of modifying the search field and button by styling #searchField and #searchField as Thomas indicated. I use Chrome and "Inspect Element" to see what CSS needs to be edited. There's even a magnifying glass added as a background image in the searchField. Good luck. =) http...
