Re: Floating labels inside images
Capture actually edits the image itself. I was hoping it could be something like positioning layers with editable text. Maybe that's not possible.

Floating labels inside images
I would like to float text labels inside images in a text book. In the topic file, I tried using DIVs with CSS tags like "position:relative;" and left, right, top, and bottom properties to accomplish this, but the Flare editor seems to ignore these.
There must be a way! Your ideas please.

Re: PDF error "illegal Operation inside a path" when I use a TOC
Turns out it had nothing to do with Flare. It was an Adobe Acrobat problem. I've found my love for Adobe products waning over the years.

PDF error "illegal Operation inside a path" when I use a TOC
When I create documents with TOC proxy and export them into PDF files, the PDF viewer displays the error message " "illegal Operation inside a path" when I open the file. What's going on? Seems like a bug.

Re: Changes in Flare editor are not updating the original doc
Thanks, Nita. I edited the original Word doc, closed the Flare doc, and then reopened the Flare doc to see whether changes to the original linked .doc would update the Flare doc. Unfortunately, it didn't work. I must be missing something.

Changes in Flare editor are not updating the original doc
I've imported a Word doc (.doc or .docx) into Flare. The XML file has a small "link" symbol on the tab when it is open in the editor. However, when I make changes in the Flare editor, the original Word doc is not being updated.
For example, if I used the Flare editor to edit the converted XML file ...

Automatically update copyright date -- best method?
What is the best way to update the current date in documents? For example, updating the year in the copyright footer.
Some ideas I'm considering:
(a) Creating a variable that can be inserted into a layout file or into documents. (I would still have to manually update the date periodically.)

Google docs
The developers at my software firm decided to create and archive documentation in Google Docs. Can Flare link to topic and snippet files in a Google Doc directory (created in native Google format)?

Re: CSS is not being imported correctly from CHM
When you say the Stylesheet Editor doesn't show the styles, do you mean you opened myStyles.css in the Stylesheet Editor and you don't see the styles, or do you mean when you're in a topic and apply the h1 tag, you don't see the styles reflected in the authoring environment?

CSS is not being imported correctly from CHM
I imported a project from a CHM. However, the properties for many of the CSS classes are missing. For example,
The imported CSS (myStyles.css) file includes this code:
H1{
color:red;
width:50%;
}
However, the Stylesheet Editor shows no properties set for H1 when myStyles.css is imported with the ...

PDF headings
I've imported a CHM file. When I output the content to PDF documents, the bookmarks panel includes bookmarks for every heading -- H1, ..., H6. I only want bookmarks for H1 headers. The bookmarks are not exactly like the TOC it imported. How can I control this? I'm ending up with too many headings in ...
