Re: SF Connect not uploading files after addition of req'd f
I'd suggest you contact Madcap Support about this. I've been on to them about other issues with the SF Connect plugin, and I've found them super helpful. They probably won't be able to change the Destination Editor straight away, that would require a patch, but they are willing to listen to requirem...

Understanding Global Project Linking
I've been reading up on global project linking. It sounds like something that would be useful to us, but I want to ensure my understanding of how it works in practice is correct. - I want to have a single (master) project with CSS, master pages, targets, destinations, etc, but no topics. - Multiple ...

Re: CSS locations in Word Import dialog
So I'm pretty sure the answer isn't in the .flimp files in an Imports folder. I've moved these out of the project's Import folder, but the same historical list of CSS files are referenced when importing Word files. Back to the drawing board.

CSS locations in Word Import dialog
css_import.png When I want to associate a CSS file when importing a Word file in 2019 r2, the dropdown lists previously selected CSS files. This info must be held somewhere, but I'm unsure where. It would be useful to remove these, not only to appease my OCD nature, but to prevent my team selecting...

Re: Resources folder location
Thanks for all the advice everyone. Good catch @wclass. Importing a Word file DOES recreate the Resources folder adding an Images and Stylesheets folder. However as we've finished importing 1000+ Word files from our existing CMS, this would be less of an issue going forward. Just something to watch ...

Re: Resources folder location
Thanks ChoccieMuffin. I was thinking of doing something along the same lines. I'm more familiar with RoboHelp, although I haven't used it for several years. I like the way its folder structure worked so I am thinking of using the following structure. The Topics folder will be my actual topic files i...

Resources folder location
As a relatively new Flare user, there is one thing I find slightly irritating: the location of the Resources folder. With it being inside the Contents folder, I find it more difficult to locate because of the myriad of other content folders in my project. I'd much rather have it at the same folder l...

Re: Truncated file names after Word import
That did the trick, so the help is misleading. The Approximate File Length option works regardless of whether import files are being split. Many thanks. That should save having to rename 1000 topic files

Re: Truncated file names after Word import
Thanks ChoccieMuffin. I'll try that, but if that's the case the Flare help is misleading. I hadn't considered that option because it says: Approximate filename length Enter the maximum number of characters to use for naming new topic files that are automatically created after splitting a long topic ...

Truncated file names after Word import
Hi. I'm seeing some odd behavior when importing a batch of Word files in Flare 2019 R2. I've the "Automatically Set Topic Title" option selected that - if I'm not mistaken - uses the first header style in the Word file for the topic title. Correct me if I'm wrong please. Our Word files hav...

Re: New Word Import in 2019 r2 - first impressions
This is more of a guess, as I'd need to test this, but could it be something to do with the way the styles are mapped in the import wizard?

Re: New Word Import in 2019 r2 - first impressions
I've just filed a bug - case S005409 - to do with the import of multiple Word files in the 2019 r2 release. In summary if you've got Word files in a higher directory than the selected sub-folder, these files are included in the wizard. They do seem to be indented though - possibly because of the sub...

Re: Can't get a Mini-TOC proxy to work with Clean HTML
Thanks for the clarification Nita. It sounds like I can't achieve what I wanted. Say I've got a topic with the following heading structure: Heading 1 Paragraph Paragraph Heading 2 Paragraph Heading 2 Paragraph Heading 3 Paragraph Paragraph Heading 2 Paragraph I want to automatically add a list of bo...

Can't get a Mini-TOC proxy to work with Clean HTML
I'm struggling to get a mini-toc prozy to display properly in my topics. It has been added to a master page that has been added to my target. However when I publish the output - I'm using Clean HTML - no min-TOC is displayed in the topics. Before you ask, yes there are other headings in the topic an...

Deleting multiple topics
An easy one for all you propeller heads... I've a selection of topics I want to remove from my project. It looks like you can't select them in the Content Explorer (even though there is a tick box next to the file name) and the only way to delete them is individually via the right click menu. Is thi...

Re: Can generation not delete output directory contents?
Thanks for all the responses so far and yes we will be using source control going forward, but we're not quite there yet. However another reason why I think we'll need multiple projects is the way each destination requires a Salesforce data category. See the "forum.png" attachment. We've o...

Re: Can generation not delete output directory contents?
Hi Dave. We're a multi-author team and need to work on separate elements of the deliverable at the same time. By separating out into multiple projects we can do this.

Re: Can generation not delete output directory contents?
That's what I figured. Thank you Nita. My use case is as follows... I have 1100 topics so want to split up these into separate Flare projects. We're publishing to Salesforce, but want a way to see (and test inter project links) before publishing. I had hoped that by setting each project to publish t...

Can generation not delete output directory contents?
I'm a new Flare user and was wondering if there is a way to stop Flare from deleting the contents of the output folder each time we generate the output? It appears not, and I know other tools operate the same way, but just need confirmation. Usinf Flare 2019 generating Clean HTML if that makes a dif...
