Re: Flare to CMS integration

So, Tech Support says Clean XHTML and inline styles works for ZenDesk, SalesForce, and ServiceNow. What about some other less well-known CMS vendors? I think a rival consultant may throw a curveball with some bizarrity from Eastern Europe or Vietnam... What unknowns might I face in terms of file for...

Flare to CMS integration

I see very little new on this topic. Looking for experiences with exporting Flare content to any CMS. Pluses/minuses/recommendations. What worked for you? What to avoid at all costs? My client is tossing around the idea of a CMS, but it is as yet a black box - no vendor selected, so I don't know wha...

Re: HTML special characters on Apple iOS

Thanks, Nita - I made a sloppy copy and paste. The character is correctly specified in the HTML, and it does appear on iOS, but is blocky. I will try some other fonts.

HTML special characters on Apple iOS

I have a prototype page that displays an infinity sign: https://jackdeland.com/content/f-essays/approaching-poe.htm. The code is ∖. As shown in Flare: HTML: <p class="gold"><span style="font-size: 48pt;">∞</span> CSS: p.gold { text-align: center; font-size: 48px; color: #cba135; ...

ClauseMatch integration?

I have a client in the UK interested in tying output from ClauseMatch (clausematch.com) into Flare via the Flare API. ClauseMatch claims they can do it. It is a tool for monitoring changes in regulatory documentation and notifying subscribers of the changes. There is very little about it out there t...

CSH call from C++ # = %23

My client is having problems with calling CSH using the URL method in a C++ program. He says "I haven’t been making any progress because the Shellexecute in C++ when opened in chrome or any browser keeps converting the ‘#’ anchor string with the CSHID to a ‘%23’." I don't have a way to dup...

CSH Spy Program - What Are You Using?

I am documenting an application with a lot of failed Help calls. I will need some non-expert help (that is, an engineer or other SME who knows the software but not Help) to test all the modules, and am looking for a good tool they could use, on a budget of zero. Can you recommend a shareware/freewar...

Ah. Just out of curiosity, I did just that. The validator doesn't like

Code: Select all

font : Intel Clear;
It does like

Code: Select all

font : 'Intel Clear';

Hmm, found Dave Lee's code at viewtopic.php?f=13&t=20563, which is def cleaner, but there's still a lag. Must not be the code, then.

Feedback button JS for Top Nav yields slow results

OK, here's what I have cobbled together for a click event for my new TopNav toolbar "Email" button. window.location='mailto:jackdeland@adamcharlesconsulting.com?subject=CGI Help system <' + escape(window.location.href) + '>'; This produces: CGI Help system <file:///H:/CGI%20Prototype/Outpu...

Shared master page not used in multiple manual project?

This will sound weird, but: I have a project with several "manuals" folders. The manuals all share the same style sheets, master pages, page layouts, common images, etc. There is a master TOC, but the child TOCs all have the same properties. However, one manual set is not showing the bread...

Re: Can I generate HTML5 output from a script/command line?

Make sure you understand their script. Build order in a multi-component system can be a little tricky. For example, you may need to build some child projects first to get the current version called up by the parent.

See Scott DeLoach's slide #8 http://www.slideshare.net/scottdeloach/ ... dtricksweb. The presentation is from 2009, and I haven't tried it, but I have seen variables in TOCs before, just can't remember the syntax.

Popup Text from Image Map?

OK, I've tried various combinations of style sheets, page layouts, master pages, etc. I know this is simple, but I haven't done it before. Can someone provide newbie-level steps on how to launch a small HTML5 popup page from the image map? TIA

Global project linking - auto reimport

I'm sure this is simple... I have an "intermediate" project that I am sharing among two others - html, png, and pdf. I have the auto-reimport option checked. My understanding of the auto option is that it updates the files without user input, i.e., you don't have to use the Accept Imported...
