Concept links suddently not working
I have a large help project containing a parent and several child projects (linked through the TOC). Output is CHM. Both the parent and child projects have many concept links accessed through See Also buttons. In the 2022 update to this project all the concept links worked fine. However, I just upda...

broken child - parent links
I have a parent CHM project with several child CHM projects. When I create a link from a topic in the child project to a topic in the parent project, I see "this page cannot be displayed." Both parent and child CHMs are published to the same folder. I have done these links successfully bef...

Re: Google analytics script showing up in search results
Thanks so much for the clarification about not being able to use scripts in the head tags for each TOPIC (as opposed to master pages). I have moved the script back to within the body tags, but placed it at the end of the body section, as previously suggested. It now works fine :) . Google Analytics ...

Re: Google analytics script showing up in search results
Thanks for the feedback about the header section. Unfortunately when I try that, Google Analytics doesn't recognize the script. That is, I don't get any GA data. And since each script is unique to each topic, I can't put it into a master page either. Does anyone have thoughts on why GA wouldn't reco...

Re: Google analytics script showing up in search results
Thanks, I'll try that! The script isn't actually in the master page. Each script has a unique event label for the specific topic, so I have to put it into the topic itself. However, I will try moving it to the end of the topic and see if that solves the problem(s). Thanks for your feedback!

Google analytics script showing up in search results
I'm inserting GA script into each topic in my help system. If I put the script within the body tags, right at the top (before the <H1> heading), I get the page hit data I need. BUT when the user opens the help and does a search, the search results show the GA script right under the topic name. If I ...

CHM index crashes software in Window 10
I just learned that our software product locks up and must be restarted IF our customers enter a search term into the Index search of the CHM help AND they are on Windows 10. Our developers say the online help needs "reindexing," but how does one "reindex"? I just create standard...

Re: OK to update topic after build?
Thanks so much -- those caveats are good to know! In my current situation, none of the things that you point out are changing, so I feel reassured that I won't break anything. Thanks to you both for the helpful advice!

OK to update topic after build?
Sometimes I need to make one small change to a single topic after I have handed off a completed project. Can I just update the specific HTM file and ask the developers to replace the original file with the corrected file (no change to file name)? Or will that wreak havoc somehow with the TOC or othe...

Re: removing rounded corner on topics
Worked like a charm. I created a file called StylesCorner.css containing just this text: html.left-layout #contentBody { -webkit-border-radius: 0px 0 0 0; -moz-border-radius: 0px 0 0 0; border-radius: 0px 0 0 0; float: right; left: 275px; right: 0; } I saved it in my project in /Content/Resources/St...

Re: removing rounded corner on topics
Sorry for the delay in responding. Thanks so much for this suggestion Dave! I will definitely give it a try. Having to remember to update an output is always risky; this would be a much better solution.

Re: removing rounded corner on topics
That's a great suggestion, Nita. I made a note to update the stylesheet with my final release output, but having the modified stylesheet available to copy over the old one will be MUCH easier.
Thanks!
Rebecca

removing rounded corner on topics
I'm using HTML5 output with an HTML5 skin. I would like to remove the radius from the upper left corner of the topic container (see screenshot). I can't figure out how to do this in the skin editor or in the stylesheet. In searching the forum, I saw a reference to changing a style in style.css, but ...
