Re: Conditions appearing in built help
For Menu proxies and accordion-style navigation, I can probably answer before I test: I bet it won't work. Flare dynamically creates the menu items at runtime and I think the same with Side and TopNav. The CSS would probably work to hide it, but I doubt the script could tell Flare to show a specific ...

Here's a scenario where I'm thinking to use it. I have a working prototype if you'd like it.

Re: Resize popups from image map (Side-nav skin)
The goal is to resize the topic popup window as shown in the attached image.
popups.png
However, I'd like to use the default window size for topics and a different size for definition popups (bottom image). That's what I'm unable to accomplish because there's no where to say "use this ...

Re: Adding hints to search field
Fiona, I know this response is late, but I still wanted to share. I have a toggler next to a Search Bar Proxy. Is this similar to what you were wanting?

Here's how I did it.
1. Create a snippet for the search bar proxy.
2. Create the layout that you want.

Re: Set focus on search bar on load
Thanks for the info. Agreed. It's something I didn't think about, but it makes total sense.
Instead of auto-focusing, I modified the script to offer my users the choice to enable or disable search bar auto-focus; then their preference is stored in LocalStorage. I also included a snippet:

UPDATE 21 June 2024:
Disregard my original post below. The error is not related to the Alias file as I thought. I finally found the Unicode characters in a .txt file in my project (manually, I might add, but that time also permitted me to clean up a little here and there along the way). The Unicode ...

Surrogate Pair 0xD83D - HTML5 Build Fails
I recently had an issue with my builds failing because of the dreaded Surrogate Pair error message. Thought I would offer my scenario in hopes it may help others too down the road.

This is potentially why I've been having CORS issues. This CORS thing I think is a horrible invention.
Our in-house server includes CORS in the server header responses, so it's difficult for us to share docs (employee to employee) from a common HTML5 output. Half the time it thinks subfolders are ...

Wow... this is odd.... so, if I include HTML in CSS the bar shows. If I remove html, the entire frame is gray like the body background.
html,

Select Tripane Skin from TopNav SelectSkin Button
I wanted to give my users an option to go "old school" if they want with a tripane skin. I have all skins in my project and they're set to be responsive. However, when I build a TopNav and click the SelectSkin button, only TopNav and SideNav skins show up. Why doesn't the Tripane skin show as an ...

I use conditions as well for things like this. I have multiple glossaries and each term is conditioned. Then you include or exclude terms.

RFox, you may want to double check your settings under Icon and Size. These two settings can be confusing, and there's not much documentation around these two.

Re: Flare adds a d1p1 namespace - why?
Update: My boss mentioned Flare had a hiccup during a Find/Replace session she was working on. I'm thinking that might be the culprit... a Find/Replace user request would definitely have to invoke a script in Flare, right? I've submitted a question to MadCap.

Example 3: I've also used SmartMenus to create my own menu using the XML TOC I create in Flare. This is a really nice tool! If you use SmartMenus to create your Flare menu, you can position it where you'd like!

Hi. I'd like to use additional variables in the SearchProxy like the {query} default. Is there a list or other documentation that shows the values we're able to use?
