How to update the elasticsearch content services
In my build logs from my HTML5 outputs I'm getting the message: Content Services 1.3.0 is required for this build. Closing Content Services 1.2.0... The version of my content services is indeed 1.2.0 (Build 16.0.7426.25547). This leads me to the question: How can I update the version of the content ...

Hope it works for you too.

Re: Merging files from SDL Trados
I had the same problem with my translator agency. Since my translator could not see any problems on his side, I had find a solution by myself. After some research I figured out that the problem was a missing xml-tag: mrk. This tag is not the xlf files that the translator is sending me. That's why ...

Re: PDF target sometimes ignores my print stylesheet?
Hello madharrison Unfortunately, I can't help you with the problem. What I can do is confirm, that I have the same problem since the update to Version 2021 in my PDF output. In my case, the font-style of a paragraph is defined as bold in the stylesheet. If I use this paragraph and after the ...

Same problem here. Text in images is not visible anymore in built output. MadCap already confirmed the bug to me: "Thank you for contacting MadCap Technical Support. I was able to replicate the same behavior on my end. It looks like this is due to a bug in Flare. Please note that I have documented ...

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
Since the Version 2016 r2, you need to change the following code in MadCapAll.js if(L!=null&&P&&O){var U=y(X,true);L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+P+"Path="+U)} Change into this: /*if(L!=null&&P&&O){var U=y(X,true);L+=encodeURIComponent("?"+P+"Path="+U)}*/ I tested it and it worked for me

Re: Transparent PNG has white background in PDF
Hi,
I've had the same issue. I found out, that the white background is printed when the setting for the image Compression (PDF-Target -> PDF Options -> Compression) is "jpeg".
With the value "Automatic" the background stays transparent.

Re: Lingo and SDL Studio 2014 SP2 issues
Has anyone found a solution to fix this problem? In my case, it seems as if Trados can't recognize the element MadCap:matchPercent="100" . Our LSP sees only a fuzzy match around 80% and charges us his work to controll those segments. Something we wanted to avoid by using a TM. Or maybe someone knows ...

I think both formats were never supported in Lingo and they are both not on the list of supported files. Check the list of supported files here:

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
In Flare 10, I deleted this entry in the file MadCapAll.js: ;K+=encodeURIComponent("?"+M+"Path="+Q) After the update to Flare11, I couldn't find the entry anmymore in the file and was therefor unable to delete it. And the problem is back again *argh*. On the other hand, it seems as MadCap could ...

Re: Problems due to difference between TBX Basic an TBX Default?
I'm struggeling with the same problem at the moment. Our translation agency is also using Trados and we are maintaining our termbase in Lingo. It seems that the problem is (as you already mentioned) because of the two differen tbx formats (basic and default). Furthermore, I didn't find a suitable ...

My supervisor recently came up with the idea to add chapter numbers to our HTML5 output. I told him that I need to do some research in this matter. I hope you can help me. Re: Entries in TM are different because of HTML-Tags
hy kwag_myers Thanks for your help and your instructions how to fix this problem. Unfortunately, this is not the path I want to use. I don't want to edit the translated content since a) I'm not a translator and b) we pay our translator enough to do his job. Another point is that I would like to ...

Entries in TM are different because of HTML-Tags
Good morning At the moment, I'm trying to establish a TM with Lingo to minimize our costs for translation. The general idea was to translate resx-files (which are used for our software) and all the MadCap Flare files with Lingo and its TM. Until today, I only translated resx-files and saved the ...

images higher than 1 page - force page-break
In our documentation, we would like to implement images (filtype PNG) which contain float charts (edited in madcap capture). These charts can be so detailed that they need a lot of place (in height). In the HTML5 output, this is not an issue at all, but in pdf output, the image is cut off at the ...

Hide button mobile skin in responsive output
We work with the responsive output. In our standard HTML5-Skin, we implemented a print button to print the topic. This works fine.
Does anyone know a workaround / option to hide this print button, as soon as the webhelp is displayed on a mobile device.
Thanks
Patrick

toggler: edit the style of an opened toggler
Hy everyone, In the HTML5-Help I'm responsible for, I'm using togglers. I'm struggeling now with adapting the look of the opened content of the toggler. In fact, I would like to have a frame around to opened content, but only around the content of the toggler and not the "head" of the toggler. What ...
