I also had this problem. I don't think it is related to csh.js. If you get this error, it means Flare can connect to your server, but it can't find the destination (directory) that you want to upload to and csh.js is just the first file that Flare tries to upload before it hits the error (my error w...

Re: Font changes to bold unexpectedly
Hi Carsten, I agree it is frustrating. The way Capture integrates with Flare makes it so convenient to use, but the total lack of support for Capture is exasperating. Flare users need a screen capture / annotation tool, there is no doubt about that. It's as if Madcap have decided that it is not wort...

Re: How do you handle images?
A lot depends on what you want to use screenshots for. If they contain key information to be followed by users as an integral part of a procedure, then a), b) or Steve's suggestion is needed. We have used numbered callouts and legends (which are easy to translate) and it is probably the easiest/fast...

Re: Text rectangle will not resize
I don't think it is possible. I think Capture sets a minimum limit so that it can display the text. That limit seems to include some breathing space top and bottom, perhaps so that multiple lines don't touch, but also to account for letters with descenders. For example a word with a capital letter, ...

Re: Understanding heading level diffs in print/online
To answer the question at the end of your first para: Yes
There is a setting in PDF targets to "use the TOC depth for heading levels". This link should help:

How does it look in your output? There are some properties that Flare can't render in the editor, but are fine in output. You can still use them in your projects.

Re: Change to li from p after using Ctrl+;
The easiest way might be to create another <li> tag after the existing <li> tag that contains the image. Do Ctrl+; again on the new list item, add your text and hit Enter to get a new empty <p>, and then drag the image down to the new <p>. This should leave your previous <li> tag on its own with a <...

Re: Capture minimize button closes the application
There's a setting on the General tab of the Option dialog box: Minimize to System Tray. It sounds like that is selected. You can clear the checkbox and Capture will behave normally. If this option is selected, Capture minimizes to the system tray and the Capture icon on the task bar does indeed &quo...

Re: Cannot capture screen into a new file with profile
You can skip your initial task of creating an empty tab. You don't need to set up an empty space as a destination for a subsequent capture. Whenever you make a capture, it is automatically displayed in a new tab. If you want to use a profile for a capture, you can select the profile in the Edit tab ...

I agree you can probably do this with divs. I did something similar that has a gallery feel to it. I used Flare's Responsive Layout gadget:
This is in PDF. Not tested anything like this in epub. But maybe this could be adapted to what you need.

Re: Resizing Bubble
Hi Mel - I can get this to work ok in Capture, with the following observation: the proportional resize only applies to the area of the bubble (the rectangle), it doesn't apply to the point of the pointer, which stays locked in position - I think that is a good feature. The base of the pointer (where...

Re: Insert Topic into Slideshow
No problem, Tawni. I appreciate that keeping all your topics in snippets is a lot of effort - perhaps more effort than is beneficial in the long run. I use this approach with slideshows, but I only use e.g. a short intro blurb, so snippets are easy in that context. Hope you find a way to do it.

One way to keep content automatically synced in two locations is to put it in a snippet, and use the snippet in each location. When you want to update that content, update the snippet.

MadCap Support has accepted this as a bug (#141786). There is an associated bug that hides bookmark link targets under the header (#141799). The MadCap workaround for that is: /*Workaround for the issue where bookmark link targets scroll behind web fixed header*/ h1, h2, h3, h4 { padding-top: 5em; m...

While volnum and manual version could be the same thing (e.g. you could think of the second version of the manual to be volume 2), in Flare, the volnum command is used for numbering different volumes (or parts) inside your manual. You might be able to get this to work as it is if you set the volnum ...

Re: How do I set the default HTML5 skin?
I don't think you can explicitly set a flag on a skin to make it the default. I think the default skin is the skin that appears first in the list of skins when sorted alphabetically A-Z. You can rename the skin that you want to be considered default so that it appears at the top of the list.

Hi - Just a quick note to say that you can download all the Flare user docs as PDFs from this url:

Copy them to your Flare workstation and you'll have offline access to help docs.

Re: Wrapping multiple paragraphs in a <div> element
Select the elements and then hit TAB. This opens the Create Group dialog box, which allows you to select from the divs that you have set up in your stylesheet.
This is the same function as the Group function in the Paragraph section of the Home tab/ribbon/toolbar.

With the topic displayed in the Flare XML editor, you can right-click the image and then click Hyperlink Image in the shortcut menu. This opens the standard Insert Hyperlink dialog box. The drop-down menu at the top of the dialog box is set to File in Project by default, but you can choose another t...
