See also this thread of similar problem: https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=27281&p=133313&hilit=SVN+bound#p133313 Today I found a workaround that I will use until MadCap figures this one out. BTW, my source control is Tortoise Subversion. From Flare, right-click the ...

Re: Projects not connecting to source control
Jonathan, I phoned MadCap Support this morning. For now, now good. The rep said, "Although I have seen this issue, I am not sure what may be causing the binding to fail frequently. I will have to do further research on this matter. I will update you with my findings." I am going to also re...

Re: SVN broken in Flare 12?
Add me to the list (who from Madcap will help?). I use Flare v12 with Tortoise SVN. The same problem is happening for me. I've existing projects that are bound to SVN. One day everything is fine re: I can check out current and check in updates. A day or two later, I open the same project and it is n...

Re: Background Thread error messages - Compiled SOLUTIONS
Ignore my request. I simply deleted the project off of my C: drive and re-imported it from Subversion.
Luckily, the changes I'd made were minimal (prior to the error appeared that prevented me from checking in the updates).

Re: Background Thread error messages - Compiled SOLUTIONS
Some wrote on another thread that "I'd try resetting the window layouts before reinstalling - sometimes that fixes anomalies." will fix the problem (and it did for the other user). Please... I am new to Flare, etc. .. I rarely use it and when I do there are usually problems. What exactly d...

Re: Background Thread error messages - Compiled SOLUTIONS
During a search, I hit upon this thread. The background thread error I am seeing is somewhat different. Can anyone provide insight into what the attached error message is trying to tell me? What is the solution? Thank you!!!

Re: Copy an Entire Project?
Thank you very much for your quick reply. We use Subversion (SVN) for source control. Does this "complicate" the copy? -- at least initially?

Copy an Entire Project?
What is the best way to copy an entire existing project? I need to do this to make a NEW project ... based on the old one. Thanks.

Re: Flare V10 Message/Warning/Error
Thanks. Logged out/back in. I then deleted the conditional tag set and started from scratch. Things are working fine now and I haven't seen the message (error) all day.

Re: Flare V10 Message/Warning/Error
I honestly do not know Advanced mode vs. Basic mode. I was in my project and simply created two condition tags. Then the message began to appear. What mode should I be in? How to switch between modes? thank you

Flare V10 Message/Warning/Error
The following message appears when I save or do some other misc. things in my Flare V10 project. I posted it here (general discussion) because I do not know which specific module or functionality is driving it. "The conditional expression edit is in basic mode and data from the advanced express...

Re: Understanding of Condition Tags
I located a Madcap video in YouTube that is quite good and I now feel better about this. I'll use a test project until I'm comfortable.

Understanding of Condition Tags
Hello. I am fairly new to Flare and now need to utilize condition tags. I've read through Madcap's Conditional Tags document and the steps are clear but I need more of an explanatory understanding. Here is why I need to use condition tags (I will be as brief as possible). I have a set of application...

What is the secret?
I've searched online and in the style document but I can't find what I need. This is quite simple -- and these quite simple issues are the ones I can usually not find an answer for. I have a bullet list - based on my department template. It looks fine. There is one bullet - in the middle of the bull...

Re: Chapter nums & appendices in PDF (bookmarks) -printed output
Nita, that worked! ("I suggest you use the {chapnum} for the Appendix heading, too, rather than the {A+} auto-number. I use {chapnum} for my appendixes and it works just fine.") It was good to see 'B' and 'C', etc.!!!! I will have her change it in the master template (along with the other ...

Re: Chapter nums & appendices in PDF (bookmarks) -printed output
The person who created the style sheet gave me the instructions for the Page Layout field (to use the default). I will do what you suggest and try something else. She also asked me to make that "left" setting. Regarding posting of the appendix heading within the style sheet ... here it is....

Re: Chapter nums & appendices in PDF (bookmarks) -printed output
Also, something is wrong with the board. Even though I have it set to do so, I am not getting emails when someone replies to my request (hence my delay in checking the board). I noticed the board was down a couple of days ago and I thought they were fixing this lack of email notification issue.

THanks to you both! Here is more information. Re: Chapter nums & appendices in PDF (bookmarks) -printed output
Unfortunately, Nita's solution did not work. The first appendix ('A') does appear as Appendix A. However, all appendices after 'A' also appear as Appendix A.

Chapter nums & appendices in PDF (bookmarks) -printed output
A co-worker created a stylesheet for our dept. I'm having issues with it when generating my PDF target - the four appendices are all appearing in the PDF bookmarks as "Appendix A" -- not incrementing (no 'B' or 'C' or 'D'). She has no idea as to how to fix it so I thought I'd ask the wonde...
