Re: MadCap Capture Conditional (text) failure in pagelayout

Were the conditions applied to the image in Capture, or were the conditions applied to separate images on the page layout? The conditions are applied inside of MadCap Capture. I have several images layered, each with a condition set so that only one of the layers appears, depending on the Flare tar...

Re: MadCap Capture Conditional (text) failure in pagelayout

So, in end end, is this supposed to be supported by Flare and it doesn't work (i.e., it's a bug)? Or is it really not supposed to be yet, but it something they ought to do in a future release (i.e., it's a feature request)? Sorry for the slow response. I am afraid I don't know. Due to the lack of t...

Re: MadCap Capture Conditional (text) failure in pagelayout

Hi Shawn, Sounds like a bug to me. I recommend contacting support, if you haven't already. I have and the response back was an extremely disappointing and lazy form message to zip my Flare project and send it to MadCap support... nothing more. Another less than optimal support answer. MadCap suppor...

Re: MadCap Capture Conditional (text) failure in pagelayout

I just want to know if it is possible to use a conditional image (created in MadCap Capture) inside a pagelayout footer. :?

MadCap Capture Conditional (text) failure in pagelayout

Hello all, I now need to add co-branding for some of my documentation. My solution was to create a single image with each corporate logo side-by-side (in order to ensure relative size, position, and space between logos). Next, in MadCap Capture, I placed a white box over the secondary logo with a co...

Re: Best way to package HTML5 on a thumb drive?

Hi, My company has just adopted using HTML5 output for our manuals. Yeah! We now need an easy way to package up the output on a thumb drive or CD for our customers. They are used to PDFs and the HTML5 output folder is going to be a bit confusing for them. I think we need a .bat file or shortcut to ...

Re: HTML5 TopNav - Index Appearance - Search Filter [SOLVED!

FYI, for those not familiar with this flag, here is an example of how this flag is used:

Code: Select all

td.GenIndexPageText1
{
	font-size: 80% !important;
	color: #0543a8 !important;
	width: 400px !important;
	text-align: left !important;
	padding-left: 10px !important;

Re: HTML5 TopNav - Index Appearance - Search Filter [SOLVED!

Oh. And sometimes the madcap styling overrides the project styling (something to do with the cascade, but I forget the details)*. So if it doesn't work the first time, add !important after the property that didn't 'stick' and see how that goes. :) * working in an older version, so your mileage may ...

Re: HTML5 TopNav - Index and Search Filter not working

The solution is to edit, C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare 13\Flare.app\Resources\WebHelp2\Desktop\Skins\Default\Stylesheets\Topic.css And then at the end of this stylesheet, add the class: td.GenIndexPageText1 { width: 300px; } Presto... fixed. :) My usual caveat of "I may be wron...

Re: HTML5 TopNav - Index and Search Filter not working

Can you manually add td.GenIndexPageText1 to your stylesheet and set the width on that? I seem to remember I did something similar for the table of contents for a printed output a number of years ago, but I'm not using Flare at the moment. Thanks for the tip but td.GenIndexPageText1 needs to be edi...

Re: HTML5 TopNav - Index and Search Filter not working

I think I have exhausted all the possible stylesheet options under MadCap|indexProxy. If changing the column width is actually possible, I suspect the edits will happen in a table class. :]

I submitted a support request. Hopefully there is a solution to this.

Re: Global Project Linking is no longer working

Hello all, Thank you so much for your assistance. I found the problem... or if not, it is a coincidence that when I enabled Auto-include linked files in the global import file, the synchronization is now working when I run a build. :D :D I thought this selection was enabled yesterday. ??? 2017-02-22...

Re: Global Project Linking is no longer working

Is it possible that any of the globally-linked files in your project are read-only at the time of import? We use SVN and our projects are not bound to source control in Flare. We've found that if *any* of the files to be imported are read-only, the import silently fails for all files and the status...

Re: Flare 2017?

This had been puzzling me. I ignored 2016 r2 given I wasn't interested in MadCap Central (as a sole author). But as I'm on maintenance I had been waiting to be emailed a key to move to 2017 (aka Flare13). Today I cracked it – they’ve changed the system – I just had to go to https://www.madcapsoftwa...

That is correct but my version should have at least shown the last available update... v12 r2.

Anyhow, my main issue was that I was never notified about Flare 2017.
