Re: Icon Images appear too small in PDF Output
By default, images are displayed at 1:1 scale for online targets, and on the scale determined by image resolution for print targets. Therefore you should change your Note style and specify the desired icon size for print targets, or change the images' resolution settings.

Re: Forward/Back buttons in HTML5 stop working on some topics
In Flare 8 these buttons worked well. Perhaps their behavior deteriorated due to incorrect implementation of TocPath information in URLs in Flare 9.

Re: Flare 9 HTML5 and TocPath in page links
Make sure you test it with the TOC sync; I'm curious to see if the original issue comes back with that code removed, or if TOC syncing continues to work.

Re: Possible to modify Navigation Panel border width?
However, if the user grabs & drags the navigational panel by using the resize bar, the appearance is reset to the default appearance until the page is reloaded. Is there a workaround for this to force these settings to stick?

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
TIFF file format is common to print work, especially for the art photography, fine art, art prints, etc. Since it supports CMYK and L*a*b color spaces, that are needed for fine tuning the color and printing prepared color separations for offset printing machines. If you have to produce a CMYK PDF ...

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
No, if an image already contains, for example, 256 colors, than repeated color reduction to 256 colors does not change anything.SteveS wrote:But my point about using the process repeatedly on the same image will eventually lead to a visible loss of quality.

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
PNGs with high resolution can have large file sizes, just like BMPs. You shouldn't need to go above 150dpi for most common printers nowadays.
DPI information is just a 4 bytes in the PNG file header, and you can set and change it without affecting the PNG file size. The Imagemagick utility can do ...

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
most of the file types that support compression are 'lossy'...
No, GIF and PNG support compression, but this compression is lostless. TIFF theoretically supports both lossy and lostless compression, but usually only lostless compression can be used when saving images in TIFF format. JPG and ...

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
So how is this then supposed to work?
Photoshop "Save to web" feature uses the color space compression. Typically, there are 24 or 32 bits of color information for each pixel in a graphic file. This allows the use of more than 16 million colors. Screenshots usually contain much fewer colors ...

Re: Sharing graphics between localized help systems
I've run into complaints from the developers for the software I write a help system for because of its size. The help system is around 10MB, and the size is largely because of screenshots.

And if I agree to print, Flare prints the current topic, shown in the right pane. Not the glossary or index.
