I submitted a feature request to Madcap Flare and have been told there is already a feature request for it so it does seem per-topic styling in PDFs doesn't work _but_ will hopefully be added at some date.

Re: Single target with multiple TOCs?
Hi there, unfortunately I didn't. It does seem to be a limitation of Flare when it comes to having huge documentation sets which you want to segment.

Re: Topic-level stylesheet not working
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. In Flare's Help topic https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare2021r3/Content/Flare/Styles/Main-Activities/Associating-Stylesheets-Specific-Files1.htm , check out the What's Noteworthy bit near the end. Suggests that "locally applied" stylesheets aren't sup...

Topic-level stylesheet not working
(A followup question from https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=33744, which seems to be impossible to implement unfortunately). By default, my projects use a global stylesheet which is assigned in the Defaults > Primary Stylesheet field of the Project Properties . However, I'm ...

Hi there, yup I did, it was due to a Microsoft security issue:mosheg2 wrote:I'm also experiencing this issue. Did you find a fix?

Turning off heading numbering at TOC level
Currently we have a frontispiece chapter which unlike other chapter has non-numbered headings. Currently I use a class on the h1 element for that. However, for various reasons I'd like to avoid that. Is it possible in some way to specify that headings are not to be numbered for a specific topic at t...

Navigation Topskin - change target of Logo click
If you click on the logo in HTML5 online help produced using a top navigation skin (or indeed most skins I think), you are redirected back to the home page of the online help. Is there a way to change that target, as I'd like to go to a "frontend" project instead. EDIT: Wait I found it alr...

Single target with multiple TOCs?
I wonder is it possible to implement the following a single target, or would it have to be multiple targets run as a batch? I want to have online help where the initial landing page shows a series of panel buttons for the type of documentation you want; for example: [API Documentation] [User Guides]...

Re: "The negotiation of key exchange method has failed"
Hello, We had the same issue following an update of Open SSH. After investigation, we found that Open SSH has dropped weak cryptographic algorithms, and the Flare SSH client does not support stronger algorithms. We had no other solution than downgrading our Open SSH server configuration to support ...

"The negotiation of key exchange method has failed"
Has anyone seen the message "The negotiation of key exchange method has failed" when trying to publish via SFTP using password as authentication? I can connect to the same server via WinSCP with no issue.

Uploading to Madcap Central using command line Git
I was wondering if it's possible to upload to Madcap Central via the command line. With a local copy of a master branch that has been uploaded to Central, I tried creating a branch off it, and then uploading that branch, but get the following error: fatal: unable to access 'https://git.madcapcentral...

"Upload latest local files...." vs Commit
Hi all,
In Flare when using Central, in the "Madcap Central" dialog, there is an option "Upload latest local files to Madcap Central".
How does this differ from performing a commit and push to Central in the Source Control ribbon?

Re: Flare readds branches deleted via git command line
A bit late to the party but I am experiencing this as well. Did you ever find a resolution? I've got 2 branches that have been deleted in Azure DevOps but continue to show in Flare. I can click Delete Branch, confirm the operation, and they disappear from the Branches list - but only temporarily. A...

Searching across multiple sites in Central
Hi all, Rather than publishing a single project as a single site to Central - which means that any update would mean republishing the entire project - we have our documentation split up into multiple projects. Then we have a single front-end site on Central from where you drill down into the sub-sit...

Making responsive tile clickable
I downloaded the Flare skin Torrey to implement a top nav using homes pages with tiles that you drill down into. https://madcappeteam.mcoutput.com/torrey/Content/Home.htm Now by default the whole tile changes when you hover over it. However, you can't click on the tile, you must click directly on th...

I tried a robocopy command following as a pre-build event but it doesn't appear to work: robocopy ..\wiki Content\wiki /MIR I then tried putting it into a prebuild.bat file at the same level as my project file and calling _that_ as a pre-build event command but that didn't work either. Does anyone k...

Madcap Pulse discontinued?
Currently working my way through Scott DeLoach's book and saw it mentions Pulse; however, when I go to https://www.madcapsoftware.com/products/pulse, I'm redirected to https://www.madcapsoftware.com/products/central - that seems to suggest Madcap is no longer actively promoting its sale?

Creating on-the-fly reverse TOC?
Say I have a HTML5 target which publishes a TOC which is a blog (being continually updated) which is in reverse chronological order; that is, the most recent entries are at the top of the TOC. But I'd also like to create a book (PDF or EPUB) version which is in chronological order; that is, the earl...

Side Nav skin & Previous/Next Topic
Is it possible to add Prev and Next buttons to topics for a Side Nav skin? The instructions online from Flare say:
1. Open an HTML5 skin.
2. Select the Toolbar tab.
However, the Side Nav skin doesn't have a toolbar tab. Only the tripane one appears to have.
