Relationship Tables: problems with links
Hello, I'm taking relationship tables for a test drive. I have a cluster of four topics: 1 concept and 3 tasks. I've been able to insert the relationship proxies in each topic. When I go to any of the 3 task topics, the other links appear as they should (the concept link included). However, I'm not ...

Re: PrettyPrint-ed Code bleeding outside of box
Hi Thomas, Thanks for your answer... it was a big help. To tell the truth, since I'm using prettyprint, I'm not sure how relevant it is for me to keep using rdoverflow. I've decided to leave it in the stylesheet, but I added a new class: pre.prettyprint { overflow: scroll; } So far, so good :) Brent

PrettyPrint-ed Code bleeding outside of box
Hello, When publishing code samples in HTML5 output, I'm using a combination of "rdoverflow" and Google's "prettyprint". All works well most of the time; however, sometimes the code samples bleed past the edge of the box: http://support.beanstream.com/#Topic%20-%20Master/Account%...

Re: Can we drop the Robots <META> tag in topics?
D'oh.
Found my own answer... as Flare uses XHTML, I need to close the tag.
so, it becomes: <meta name="robots" content="noindex" />

Thanks very much, Dave.
I've passed your answer along to our web developer. I didn't know you can drop custom JavaScript in the toolbar page.
That changes things
Cheers!

Can we drop the Robots <META> tag in topics?
We'd like to publish a trial version of the online help area for review, while hiding it from public searches. Our web developer would like to drop the Robots <META> tag into the headers of our topics. When I tried to do so in a test topic, I get an "invalid syntax" warning. Here's how tha...

In a skin, is it possible to move the search bar to toolbar?
Our Web Developer would like to drop our online help area into a frame, so that he can better preserve the look of the page headers and footers across our websites. To do that, he'd like to move the search bar... is it possible to move it into, say, the tool bar? Are there any risks involved in doin...

Prettify not prettifying
Hi all, I've followed the (very helpful) MadCap blog post about using Google prettify: http://www.madcapsoftware.com/blog/2012/08/14/syntax-highlighting-using-prettify-a-syntax-highlighter-by-google/. I've created a few test topics that contain code samples (classic .ASP and some JavaScript). Everyt...

Re: Difficulty formatting cross-references
Hi Msquared! Thanks for your answer. I've tried creating a style class called MadCap|xref.concept I've defined it like this: See {u}{paratext}{/u}. Under Properties > Font, I've un-checked the "Underline" box. Yet, it becomes checked again when I try to add a cross-reference. I'm puzzled.

Difficulty formatting cross-references
Hi all, Fairly simple issue, but I struggle finding the solution: My cross-references look like this: See How to Change Passwords. I want them to look like this: See How to Change Passwords . Somehow, all of the text is underlined and acts as the link. I would like to limit the formatting to the nam...

When Previewing a hyper-linked topic, style is missing
When I preview a topic using "Preview as HTML5", and I click on a hyperlink in that topic, the new topic has an incorrect style. However, when I open the "linked-to" topic independently, the style is present. Should I be concerned? Or, is there something I need to tweak in order ...

Browse Sequences vs. TOCs
(confession: I'm a total n00b) Okay... preparing some content for online output. I've been diligently preparing a browse sequence. I understand that a browse sequence is essentially the TOC that appears in the online output. But... TOCs also appear in the online output. What is the difference betwee...

How to include topic name in Master Page header (online)?
Hello,
How do I include a topic's name in the Master Page header for online output?
I'd like the layout to resemble MadCap's own online help area:
Thanks in advance!

Same topic, different image
I have content for an iPad guide, and another for an iPhone guide. Many topics are identical, except for the images.
What is the best way to set this up so that I use the same topic, but published (online and in PDF format) with different images?
Thanks!
Brent

Press the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button simultaneously. It takes a snapshot of whatever's on your screen at that time. The device stores the image in your camera roll

Tips for capturing images from an iPad
We maintain a few user guides for iPad apps.
Other than using the iPad's native screenshot capability, is there a way to use Capture to generate screen captures from the tablet?
Thanks!
