Re: Real-time collaborating without Contributor?
Contributor will never fly. It's a 100MB+ application that requires C++ runtimes which only MS shops will use. It's a non-starter and IMHO a poor choice.

Try to use whatever code review tool your developers already use. That way they don't have to learn anything new and it's something you already have on your network.

SOLVED: Add @import to <head> block?
Yeh, that's what I did. The reason I thought it wasn't working is my problem with Open Sans Semibold. I solved that in another post.

SOLVED: Issue with Open Sans Semibold in skin
It wasn't easy but the solution had to do with uploading the fonts to github (where our documentation is hosted) rather than a Windows installation issue.
At first I did have an issue with the True Type fonts installed in Windows. That manifested itself with the font names not being in the Flare ...

ANSWER: MadCap DropDown head color not working
I don't *like* the answer but ...
The drop-down hotspot is always going to take the color of some <a> style. The color of the dropdown head can be adjusted. I don't know why the CSS has a definition for MadCap|dropDownHotspot because adding color to it does not work.

I don't care whether it's @import or <link rel> either.

I forgot to mention that using Chrome Inspector, the style being sent to the browser specifies the correct color.

Add @import to <head> block?
Flare 10.1, Windows 7
Because I'm having issues with Open Sans Semibold, I wanted to try to add an @import line to every page's <head> block but I cannot figure out how to do it. Flare's help is, not.
How do I do this?

Issue with Open Sans Semibold in skin
Flare 10.1, Windows 7
I cannot use Open Sans Semibold in my skin, at least for the navigation elements (the text on the tab pages and the text in the lists). If I specify Open Sans Semibold, a seriffed font is substituted. If I switch to Open Sans, it's fine.
What is the solution?

Re: Issues with Open Sans fonts?
Thanks. I think the issue was with the first set of True Type fonts I used. I eventually figured out how to download them from Google and now they display in Flare.

Did you install True Type fonts in Windows?
What if anything did you have to do in Flare to cause Open fonts to display?

Issues with Open Sans fonts?
Flare 10.1, Windows 7
I thought one of the features of Flare 10 was compatibility with Open fonts. I don't see Open Sans in the Flare drop-downs despite having the font installed. What's going on?

Re: Need to get rid of table borders
I think Lydia might have hit on the issue earlier when she mentioned mediums. In the TableStyle Editor, what medium are you working in as you try to edit the table style? If the medium is set to "print" or any other medium that is not the medium specified in your online target, then you're not ...

Re: Need to get rid of table borders
Hi,
is this about the outer borders of the table or other borders?
Have you checked, whether there is some local formatting? You can remove that by right-clicking the table structure bar and choosing "Reset Local Cell Formatting".
And last but not least: could this be a medium issue? I.e. in ...

Need to get rid of table borders
Flare 9.1
Even if I select None for the style of a border in a table style, the table still displays with borders. I want to get rid of some of the borders in the table. How do I do it?

Basic CSS question
New to Flare 10 on Windows. Also new to CSS.
I have CSS code and find the CSS editor kind of bewildering. What I'd like to do is create this <div> in the CSS editor because it has a fairly nice 3-column layout I think I can use. Or maybe I should use a table instead.

Is HTML supposed to import with images?
Flare 9.1.2 trial
Project > Import > HTML Files
Second page of the wizard, when I select the Import resources check box, what does that mean? Flare isn't importing the image specified in the <img> tag. According to the help, Flare should import the image.

Implementing "fork this page" for github
Flare 9.1.2 trial
We're evaluating Flare for publishing to github. It's going well so far but I wonder if it's possible to implement a feedback option that enables users to clone either the whole repo or the current page so they can file issues on it or create their own pull requests.

Re: General upgrade question
According to Google, Flare 8 was released in May 2012 and Flare 9 was released in May 2013. I, who am not under NDA, offer this information for entertainment purposes. Any resemblance to individuals, whether living, dead, or both, is entirely coincidental.

Re: General upgrade question
Was there a consistent time of year that Flare 9 and Flare 8 were released? IOW, usually about two years apart in the Spring?
WebWorks was kind of predictable that way.

Re: Dual-monitor support (switch between two and one)
Thanks, this worked.Lydia wrote:Yes, there are some options on the Windows tab.The Reset Layout will bring back the factory settings.
This works, but you can customize this to your needs: create different layouts, say one for work (2-monitor layout) and one for home (1-monitor layout).
