MadCap.xsd?

Hello, Was looking at the topic via the text editor and decided to check out the xsd file that is referred there: http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd The result was an Oops, Error 404 page on the MadCap Web site. If it isn't accessible, what are the implications? What actually is this f...

Re: controlling the size of the logo file

Hi Lydia, I had resized the logo using Photoshop to the pixel dimensions of the default company logo, but evidently this is not the way to go, or maybe I should note that for the print output these dimensions are fine, but when it comes to the HTML output it doesn't work. From what you wrote underst...

Re: Error 10083: The process cannot access the file

Good ideas all, many thanks for supporting! Lydia, your suggestion was the answer to this issue: had the PDF of the Getting Started Guide open and when I closed Acrobat Reader it compiled with no problem :). As you mentioned, it is strange behavior, for in the past I had the guide open yet it did co...

controlling the size of the logo file

Hello, I'm still in the sandbox phase and inserted a logo that was resized to the dimensions of the placeholder company logo that comes with the installation. Even though it was resized to even less than the placeholder's file dimensions, the logo is too big when displayed in the output. How is the ...

Error 10083: The process cannot access the file

This is the error I'm getting and am clueless how to resolve it. 10083 The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\udonna\Documents\My Projects\ManualOLH-Test\Output\udonna\PDFA4New\' because it is being used ...

Re: Interface a bit scrunched

Many thanks to you all for trying to help. Ramon (?), regarding your comment of using a Surface as a system for running Flare, in terms of the CPU and memory abilities--the Surface is great. The screen size though is challenging in terms of real-estate. I tried all your helpful suggestions, but alas...

Interface a bit scrunched

Hello, I've installed the trial version on a Windows 8 Pro Surface and there are places in the interface that are "scrunched", meaning the text doesn't fit in or has an interface element obscuring it. I've attached a screen capture that illustrates the issue (the row that is above the blue...

Re: setting default units for Flare

Many thanks Steve, Am still fumbling around in Flare and couldn't find where that A4 Master Page could be selected from, so modified one of the default page layout sets and renamed it to A4 and the master is now using that set (?)--I hope. Regarding the units, Flare doesn't seem to read my PCs regio...

setting default units for Flare

Hello,

I'd like to change the target PDF page size. Inches don't make sense to me (which is what appears in the default targets that I want to change), but cannot find where the default units are changed.

Using the trial version of Flare 10 on a Windows 8 Surface.

Thanks, Donna
