I could be mistaken, but it sounds like you no longer have permission to write to your Apache server.

Re: Converting Flare docs to plain text (was Collaboration...)
Most of my new topics go out for review in PDF format. Once in a while, someone will ask me for a Word file. I just use Acrobat to save the PDF as a Word doc. Acrobat is pretty good at retaining all of my formatting, images, and MathML. I'm not sure if it's better or worse than Flare's output to ...

Re: Can I treat a hyperlink as plain text in a PDF output?
I had a small project where I had to do the same thing. Here’s what I did (and it’s not pretty).
In the stylesheet, make the cross reference format for print look like normal text.
Add the cross reference twice.
Conditionalize one for print and the other for non-print.

Re: Cross references and TOC mc-heading-level
Hi Titus,
You mentioned that you set the PrintSupport attributes for p.TOC4-6 to mc-heading-level: 0;
If you don’t want headings 4-6 to show up in the TOC, use that setting on H4, H5, and H6 rather than on the p.TOCs.

Re: "Note" style in HTML5
Evan,
Users define their own styles in the stylesheet. So if a Note style doesn't exist in your CSS, then you would have to create one.

Are you still having issues?
You mentioned that you changed the active and inactive Navigation Tab icons. Have you also changed the Closed Book, Open Book, and Topic icons? In the Skin>Styles page, this is done under Navigation > Navigation Panel > TOC > Icons.

Olgad, what does your page layout look like? Or do you use multiple page layouts?

Longy,
Just a shot in the dark here, but have you checked your TOC file? This is the kind of error that you'd get if you have a file specified in the TOC that does not exist, either in the project or in the location where the TOC is looking for it.

My documentation also includes a lot of equations. The only symbol, though, that doesn't show up for me in my PDFs is the Union symbol. I was never able to figure out why. Thankfully I could replace that with an uppercase U. Can you give an example of a symbol that isn't working for you? Also, is ...

I don’t use the supplied templates, but I think the images you are referring to are the ones stored in:

Re: table 1 labeled table 3 because two figures precede it
Matt, it sounds like you have the same numbering style defined for p.figure_caption and p.table_caption. Even if the paragraphs have different names, if they have the same mc-auto-number-format defined (the same "n+"), then they'll follow the same numbering. You can avoid this by appending an ID to ...

Re: Tooltips for new Toolbar items HTML5 Output
Gary,
I have three custom buttons that I added in Flare 10. As soon as I add one on the skin’s Toolbar tab and then click save, the new button shows up on the UI Text tab with a property of Tooltip. I just then have to go in and type a value for that tooltip.

Re: Equations not showing up in PDF Output
I also have a bunch of MathML in my docs. I had one instance where the "Union" character didn't show up in the PDF output, which I found odd. I just changed the style of the uppercase U to match what it needed to look like. All of my other equations are visible, though.

Re: mc-caption properties from stylesheet
You can define "continued" in the Stylesheet editor for your print medium in the table style:
This can also be done in the Stylesheet editor.
Code: Select all
table
{
mc-caption-continuation: ' (continued)';
mc-caption-repeate: true;

I suspect that the border is being controlled by the table format rather than the footer border. What happens if you take the top cell out of the table?

Yes, those are in my Webhelp2 folder (and in my HTML5 output). I have a lot of custom images for my skins, and I keep all my skin images in that folder. I'm not sure I completely understand the steps you're using to add the logo, but you should be able to browse to your image. Select the button just to the right of the image (Select image button). This opens a window where you can select from (probably just a few) images. You probably don't see your ...

Re: What does "Internal Error: Buffer cannot be null" Mean?
Is this HTML5 output? Do you have another skin that you can test? If so, then you can determine if the error is because of that particular skin you changed or if it is the result of something that was changed in the MadCap program files.
