Re: Flare 12 unzips to the wrong place
Figured it out. For some reason, this path was manually set in the unpack box and I was blithely clicking through. User error.

Flare 12 unzips to the wrong place
Hi, I have a legacy Flare project. The flprj file is in the path C:\Me\Company\Product\SubProduct. I use Project > Zip Project. When I test the Zipped project, it unzips to the path C:\Test\AutoMatch-FlareProject\Product-Flare-20180618\Translation\Italian\ProjectName location. Where is it getting th...

Re: Title Page Not Creating Blank Second Page
Probably not. In Project and Content Explorer, is this an flpgl? I do have CSSes that I have used successfully.ChoccieMuffin wrote:Do you have an "Empty" page defined in your page layout?
Can you tell me more about defining and empty page and then getting my TitlePage.htm to use it?

Title Page Not Creating Blank Second Page
Hi,
I have a Print Only Topic called "TitlePage.htm." "Auto-end on Left" is enabled.
On the title page, I have the document title for the PDF.
When I generate the PDF, I am not getting a left (blank) page after the title page. Why not? How do I?
Flare 12.
Cheers,
Sean

Imported PDF: how to exclude from TOC
Hi, I import a two-page PDF for my front cover and a two-page PDF for my back cover into my project for PDF output. The problem is, each PDF shows up in the table of contents and, worse, each page of the PDF shows up as a subheading in the table of contents. How can I use these PDFs and exclude them...

Re: Putting Glossary in the Correct Place
So, in the Properties dialog for the Glossary page, I see these words, "(see 'TocEntry' in the Styles section in the Skin Editor)." However, when I look in Skins, I see no skin for PDF. The Style Class list gives me "(default)" and "(as is)" as options, neither of which...

Re: Putting Glossary in the Correct Place
Thank you. As you know, that worked very well.
However, the heading for the glossary, "Glossary," does not use the CSS style assigned to H1s.
How do I edit the style of the heading for the glossary? Am in the help, but it's not helping.
Thanks,
Sean

Putting Glossary in the Correct Place
Hi, My PDF output has a glossary. In the Project Organizer, I see the Glossary in the Glossaries location. I added a PDF back cover to my document by creating it, adding it in a content location, and dragging from Content Explorer to the last place in the TOC. However, when I generate the TOC, the g...

How to work with lists?
Hi, I have a list. It's good. I want to insert a paragraph in the middle. This means the list must be broken into two lists, one ending before the paragraph and the other beginning after the paragraph. 1. Blah blah. 2. Blah blah. 3. Blah blah. a. Blah blah. b. Blah blah. c. Blah blah. d. Blah blah. ...

Top Nav issue with toc
Hi, So, I have Flare 12 using HTML 5 Top Nav as output. If I click the bars button to deploy the top level of the toc, the left edge of the text in my main window pane gets cut off. The behavior I expect is that it should wrap to fit the available space. If I click expand a top-level top entry to vi...

Re: Best practice single source
Thanks.
So, what you are saying, is that some people might use one toc and use a condition for each of the separate sub documents it spawns? I might try that, but my approach seems more ... clear.
Cheers,
Sean

Re: Best practice single source
For example, do I do this by manipulating tables of content? Such as, I create one toc for the larger document and one toc for the smaller document? Output the larger toc to PDF for that entire content, and output the smaller toc to PDF for the subdocument? That seems to be what I should try. I don'...

Re: Side navigation cuts off subheadings HTML5 Top Nav
Still struggling with this.
So, I created a new target, gave it the HTML 5 top nav skin, and the problem wasn't fixed.
Is there a way to revert the skin to the absolute factory default but without harming the work I have done on the actual content and CSS?
Cheers,
Sean

Re: Side navigation cuts off subheadings HTML5 Top Nav
I tried moving the navigation pane to the left of the output, and that worked for the text. The text was not cut off when I did this. However, the menu button was positioned directly on top of my logo, and there was no way I found to move that menu button or move the logo. As an afterthought, if my ...

Re: Side navigation cuts off subheadings HTML5 Top Nav
I hadn't thought of z-index, thank you! I gave it a go. I put <Property Name="z-index">2</Property> (this seems the convention for using css in this part of the application) in the relevant place in the side menu (and then tried other spots) with no change in the undesired behavior. I appr...

So, I searched the Web and found no discussion of this issue, so am troubled that it's just me. I tried playing with padding and such for the side menu, with no luck. Seeing no reply, perhaps I could get some thoughts about expanding the width of the navigation area, or changing its behavior, or reducing font size in the navigation area, or other ideas to change the design so text for subheadings displays in full?

Side navigation cuts off subheadings HTML5 Top Nav
Using Flare 12 to create HTML 5 with Top Menu. When I expand the navigation, it looks fine. However, when I click an item in the navigation to see submenu items, the submenu items are cut off; I cannot see the left side of the submenu items. There's no scroll bar or anything. Advice for fixing this?...

Auto-end on left page not working (as I expect)
I need some help with making page count even. I want the last item in my User Guide toc to be even-numbered. Currently, it begins on page 131 and ends on page 135. So, in the TOC, I right-clicked the item, and then chose Properties > Printed Output. I set a brake type (I tried both Chapter and then ...

Hi, I have some graphics that are dialog boxes and only need a little space and some graphics that are diagrams or photos that need the entire text column. In preparation for handling graphics, I created an img.Img class/selector and a p.Image class/selector. My output is HTML 5 and PDF. What best p...

Hi, How do you guys handle nested lists with non-list elements interrupting. I found the right-click continue numbering selection. I found that if I s...
