Sigh... OK then, enhancement request. If a TOC item is linked to a topic by means of a bookmark, and you open that item from the TOC, the you are taken to the position of that bookmark within the topic, and not just to the top of the topic.

TOC Editor cannot seem to jump from bookmarked TOC entries to their corresponding bookmarked locations in topics...

Links work in the HTML5 output but not in the TOC editor.. The bookmarked links just open the parent topic at the top and I have to scroll/search for the heading I'm looking for ...

Thank you very much... never would have found it again. Also no way to turn off the start page/help page every time, and just get to what you're working on?

People, I found it.... File > Options > General > Close others when opening new document. The default on a new install seems to be "No Action", which has the effect I want, leaving the TOC where I put it. I found it had been set (by me) to "close others" .... I have looked in the help.... tried to get up to speed on the real estate parcels and behavior of the work area.
