Re: A new tool to speed up production and improve quality
* Put some information on your website about what this tool does, with examples, maybe even a video. There isn't much information there, which means you have to download it to read the documentation. For a start, I've put the FlareLint 1.2 User Guide here: https://flarelint.github.io/ I've also cre...

Re: A new tool to speed up production and improve quality
Hi marcinse and PhilAmericus,
Thanks for the feedback. I've taken note and added them to my list for the next release of FlareLint.
Question: would you be willing to beta test?
Marc.

Re: A new tool to speed up production and improve quality
When trying to install, your MSI does not list the Python 3.6 from Registry option for me, only the Python from another location option. I installed Python 3.6 and it launches fine from Powershell. I also have Python 2.7 installed, I don't know if that throws a wrench in things or not. What registr...

Re: A new tool to speed up production and improve quality
Dave, thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. To answer your first point: Like most teams, ours uses checklists for editing and for production. We need to ship quality, consistent content with no delays. So we do spell checks and peer reviews. Writers and editors are good at this. We also check fo...

A new tool to speed up production and improve quality
Hello everyone out there using MadCap Flare. Technical writers need better tools. The Knowledge Management team at Intelerad has taken a step in this direction that we want to share with the Flare and technical writing communities. We’ve been using MadCap Flare, also a better tool, since 2013. We li...

Re: TOC depth level issue
Hi Iziris, Does your stylesheet specify the mc-heading-level attribute for the h1, h2, ..., or h6 elements? From your description, I'm guessing that mc-heading-level is set to 0 (zero) for h3 and h4 in your stylesheet. A value of 0 means that the element will be excluded from the toc-proxy in the fi...

Missing xrefs in relationships proxies (with solution)
I'm sharing a frustrating behaviour of Flare 8. This one cost 2 of us almost 2 days to to figure out. I submitted a bug to MadCap (reference 122556). We noticed that in our PDFs, resolved relationships proxies have missing cross-references to some topics despite the topics' presence in a relationshi...

Re: Flare Complains about Code to Embed Video
Flare seems to have difficulty with the code used to embed (for example) a YouTube video. I used both the <iframe> and <object> methods of embedding media, but Flare complain about both with the same basic error: '>' is an unexpected token. The expected token is '='. Line 20, position xx <iframe wi...

Non-trivial relationship tables
Hi, What's a good way to organize relationship tables? I use Flare 8. I have a project with a single relationship table that contains almost 200 rows. The table has just 2-columns for source-to-target relationships. Relationship tables seem to be my best choice: They work with PDF and HTML5 outputs....

Re: Attribute selectors
Hello, I'm trying to get attribute selectors for custom attributes working in Flare 6 without any luck. I have an element that looks like this: <p myattribute="true">Some content</p> And in my css I have: [myattribute]{color: #FF00F0;} I would expect that para to be purple, but Flare disp...
