Flare 12 won't display EPS images

My project contains some .eps images that display fine in Flare 11. When I open the same files in Flare 12 the .eps images don't display.
I've installed Ghostscript but still no .eps images.

Re: Nested Topic Autonumbers

Finally solved.
Have to hold my head down in shame and say that I was inserting the CH: stream into the non-print medium!
I discovered that:

Using
{chapnum} for Heading 1
{chapnum}.{n+} Heading 2
The Heading 2's would not increment in following topics (that start with an Heading 2)

Using
CH ...

Re: Nested Topic Autonumbers

Sorry emachs, I added a bit of confusion in my last post.

I am actually using the same stream as you suggest:
CH:{chapnum} = H1.Heading1
CH:{chapnum}.{n+} = H2.Heading2

In the stylesheet they are setup as as H1.Heading1 and H2.Heading2

All work fine in my current projects where each topic starts ...

Re: Nested Topic Autonumbers

Hi Steve,
I don't have a Chapter break set on the Topics.
The H2s are using the same stream as the H1.

As a background, this project will contain hundreds of small topics.
I'd like to be able to quickly create a TOC, pull in say 10 topics, Give the first topic a H1 heading and the remaining topics ...

Re: Nested Topic Autonumbers

So for example if I have a project with 500 topics and I have 20 TOCS that I want to include a multitude of the 500 topics, each one starting with a H1:
H1: {chapnum}
and the remaining topics following on with H2s:
H2: {chapnum}.{n+}

Can you tell me how I'd configure these styles please?

I'd like ...

Re: Nested Topic Autonumbers

I'm talking about Headings Lisa (H1, H2). This may explain things a little simpler:

My headings are configured:
H1: {chapnum}
H2: {chapnum}.{n+}

Up to now all of my Topics have started with a H1 and Chapter Break in TOC with no problems.
The problem occurs when a new topic doesn't contain a H1 ...

Nested Topic Autonumbers

I have several Flare projects that use basic Topic = Chapter etc for printed output.

For the first time I tried nesting some topics within another topic (in the TOC).

e.g. I have:
Topic 1 (chapter Break) H1, H2
Topic a (none) H2
Topic b (none) H2

In my PDF output the H2s in the nested topics ...

Re: Word Target A4 Size?

Hi Margaret,
I'm not sure what you mean by "Have you set up a page layout for the PDF that you want to re-use for the Word output"?

I've set up a target with output type "Word". I already have "Disable Master Pages..." checked.
My page layouts are all A4 size but the Word output file is letter size?

Word Target A4 Size?

My flare project is set up for pdf output A4 size.
However when I export to Word the Word output .doc file always defaults to Letter size. I've searched the forums, documentation etc but can't see where to change this?

Re: Table Numbering and Repeat

Thanks for your reply.
When I create a "Table Caption" from the Table Properties (Text) dialog I don't get an option to change the class if I right-click the resulting table title?

Table Numbering and Repeat

I have a couple of auto-number streams setup for Tables (CT:Table) and Figures (CF:Figure) that work fine.

I use these with p.CaptionTable and p.CaptionFigure

However, with large tables that span more than one page the caption obviously doesn't automatically repeat.

If I use the Table Properties ...

Re: Output conditioned text only?

My files contain paragraphs that are conditioned. Am I still able to add "common" conditions to unconditioned paragraphs within each file?
If so can you please elaborate?
Thanks.

Output conditioned text only?

I have a set of content in my Flare project that uses conditional text to output two manuals.
The majority of the content appears in both manuals and is unconditioned.

The specific content is conditioned as:
- Manual A Only
- Manual B Only

I's like to output just the Manual A/B conditioned text ...

Output Only Conditioned Text

I have a large software user manual that outputs to two versions, for example Manual A and Manual B.
The conditions applied are;
ManualAOnly
ManualBOnly

Most of the conditions are applied to paragraphs within topics.
The majority of the content (95%) is left as default, unconditioned.

Is there a ...

Thanks. Our Figure legend style is centred on the page - would this make a difference to the alignment using your method as it isn't ranged from the left margin?

Formatting Cross Reference

I'm having problems with my "Figure" cross reference formatting for my pdf output.

My Figure auto numbers are formatted as: CF:Figure {chapnum}–{n+}:

For example this gives me the ouput: "Figure 1-1: Figure Title"

When I add a cross-reference for a figure I use the cross ref format: "See ...

Re: Extra Line Spacing (since six days ago) in Output

I found the problem that was causing my extra line spacing. This was briefly suggested earlier in this thread.
My Windows 7 Screen display is set to "Medium 125% (default)". I changed this to "Smaller 100%" and the output line spacing with images is correct.

Re: Extra Line Spacing (since six days ago) in Output

OK so I've got a bit further with this.
I sent my project to Madcap Help Support for them to examine and they report back that the pdf line spacing was correct when they created pdf.

The project that I sent them had been creating extra pdf line spacing for me but before I emailed it to support I ...
