Re: One Drive Issue: The tag present in the reparse point bu

In corporate environments, the Documents and Desktop folders are often mapped to OneDrive. Are your projects or output in those folders maybe?
Yes, it looks like the desktop is syncing. I keep my active Flare projects there because Flare and OneDrive don't play nice together. But it seems that the ...

One Drive Issue: The tag present in the reparse point buffer

When trying to build out a target, I'm getting this error; "The tag present in the reparse point buffer is invalid." Google is telling me it's a OneDrive issue. I have my Flare projects stored on my local drive so I don't know why OneDrive is involved unless it's doing a backup that I'm not aware of ...

Re: Table Row Separator Issue

No, there's no repeat for separators. I've looked through all of the available parameters and see nothing that would cause this. The image is from a new table style I made from scratch. I have others that display a heavier separator seemingly randomly where I've seen a heavy bottom row separator on ...

Table Row Separator Issue

I'm having issues with my table row, and occasionally column separators changing to a different weight. I created a new table just to see if I could find out what's going on and this one is giving me a thicker row separator every five rows. I'm not seeing anything active for repeat (that appears to ...

Re: OneDrive Fool Me Once...

I was able to move everything onto a flash drive. The encryption policy has been changed so all I needed to do was delete it from the drive and I was able to get everything moved. Nice to know so I now have that removable drive to use as backup. I'll definitely try zipping a project to move to the ...

OneDrive Fool Me Once...

So, I learned the hard way a couple years ago to only work on a local drive with Flare. Storing and working with Flare projects on a server or any cloud-based application is a nightmare. But I didn't know the extent till I got a new company laptop and had to save files somewhere so I could retrieve ...

Re: Source files going missing after reimport

So, I heeded all the advice I've seen in other threads to work strictly on a local drive simply because strange things happen when Flare projects are stored elsewhere like servers, cloud storage and even an external USB HD. I moved all of my template files to my desktop and also created a desktop ...

Re: Source files going missing after reimport

I am having a similar issue that appears to be triggered when importing files from a global template. I thought it was because I was storing my global template and projects on OneDrive. I have learned that that is not a good practice because of versioning issues with cloud apps. So, I moved ...

Re: Field-Level Help using Flare

Not sure if this is the same thing you're trying to do, but we use Flare to deliver "inline help" (or embedded help), which amounts to pop-up windows within our applications that display topics based on the area of the page from which the help window was opened. These are in conjunction with the ...

I had the same problem with using Flare 12. There are 2 things that need to be fixed when using the KB fix found here:

My Insert Snippet Buttons are Grayed Out

Hi-

This is driving me crazy. I created a bunch of snippets that I would like to insert into my page layout header frames then add conditions for certain pages. When I went to insert one of them I see that the insert buttons for snippets are inactive. All of them are properly residing in the ...

Re: newly installed fonts

I'm running v11...does anyone know if this is still an issue? I recently installed some client fonts for their branding and I'm having issues. Only one of the variations of each of the fonts show available in Flare (the wrong ones, of course). One of the fonts is unique to the client and they are ...

Re: Retain Global Layouts with Static Header Info

I must be losing it...that's exactly what I did for my test project. I think I was trying to figure a way of being able to modify the TM and reg symbols globally and got my mind wrapped in the wrong direction. That's simple...I have snippets for those in my global project that I can slip into the ...

Retain Global Layouts with Static Header Info

Hello,

I'm sure there is a simple way to accomplish this but I haven't found the solution in 2 days of trial and (mostly) error. I have Global Page Layouts set up for my print output (pdf) that includes a background image that contains some branding artwork along with the company logo. For my Title ...

Re: Lost Conditions

OK...so I re-did my template locally and kept an eye on the Conditions button in a sample topic. Everything was going fine till I assigned my custom stylesheet to the project and target properties...then it grayed out. Pulled my hair for a moment then closed the project and reopened it...voila! The ...

Re: Lost Conditions

I think there are a lot of variables going on here that I need to work through. This is pretty much my second stab at a project. The first went pretty smoothly but now I'm seeing some things that I did that I'll have to rethink. I'm in Flare 11 btw.

First off, I'm working on virtual Windows on a ...

Lost Conditions

I'm still wet behind the ears so please forgive me if I'm missing something obvious. I'm trying to set up a project template for pdf output and everything is going fine, stylesheet is awesome, page layouts for pdf look great and are assigned to template topics, variables defined etc. Everything is ...

Illustrator CSS Extraction and Flare

I was just updating my Adobe Illustrator and noticed that there's a new CSS Extractor tool that will create a css style based on the attributes of an AI drawing. Has anyone tried using this with Flare yet?

Re: Unwanted Break in Note Style

Thanks for the replies...

D'oh...I guess I could have just defined that in the note properties and that was my first inclination but for some reason I was thinking that there was a possibility to combine 2 separate styles. I'll just chalk it up to a senior moment (I can do that now that I'm 60 ...

Unwanted Break in Note Style

I have a Note style with borders that is subject to page breaks in pdf output. Is there a way to assign both, my Note style along with my "AvoidInsideBreak" paragraph styles together? Or, do I need to do something else to keep my Note style from breaking?
