Only 100% matches shown
As of a couple of years ago, Lingo is showing fewer and fewer fuzzy matches, to the point where I am now seeing ONLY 100% matches in an imported Flare project. This means if one <span> tag or image is in a different place, Lingo acts like it's never seen this segment before. Anybody know if there's ...

HTML5 Top Nav Menu drop-down Skin item?
I have a light-colored header in my top-nav skin, and so I made the Menu items black. However, when I build Web output, and hover over a TOC item, I get a drop down with a very dark background, where it's hard to see the sub-items (see image attached). I cannot find anywhere in the top-nav skin to c...

HIDE Hamburger menu permanently
We have a one-page software license with a blank TOC, and are using HTML5 Top Navigation skin. The hamburger (flyout) menu appears when you resize the browser window, even though there's nothing to show. In the HTML5 - Top Nav skin, under Setup, there is no option to have a pane position of "no...

2 logos on HTML5 top nav skin Header?
Client is requesting that we do 2 logos on a top-nav header, one aligned left, one aligned right. I have no idea how to do this in Flare's WYSYWIG skin editor. Is this something anyone else has done? I can pop the skin open in JEdit and see what's going on, but it looks like the logo itself is a sep...

HTML5 Body width too narrow
I added an HTML5 target to an existing project, and I cannot figure out why it has chosen the particular display width that it's using, or where to change it. Code looks like it's checking device width, but it's stuck at around 800px max on PC, no matter how I resize the window. Any ideas? No specif...

Re: Lingo parsing segments poorly from Flare
That sounds like a lot of workaround, given that when I do ANYTHING to the .htm.xlf files outside of Lingo it refuses to re-import them into the project. It feels like Lingo is sort of languishing without development resources allocated to improving anything.

Splitting Frmaes?
I guess I thought Mimic was more sophisticated than this, but I've recorded a movie in video mode and wanted to go in to remove some of the empty time (waiting for app I'm recording to load the next screen, etc.) but Mimic recorded the entire 2 minutes as 1 long frame that can't be split. When I set...

Lingo parsing segments poorly from Flare
I've found repeatedly that Lingo doesn't handle nested lists very well when importing a Flare project, consistently putting <li> and <ul> tags with the previous segment or </li> </ul>tags with the following segment. It seems to have some rule about keeping tags together, even if those tags specifica...

Re: Is Header file redundant with CSH URL method?
No. I don't care one way or another, I'm just trying to figure out what it does. My developer doesn't know what to do with it. He wants to link via URL (which isn't working with the link by ID methods in Flare's help) and I'm trying to figure out whether I need to do something else with the header f...

Re: Flare Crashing
We found that McAfee's "On-Access Scan" feature was crashing Flare 10.2. Couldn't convince IT people to get rid of McAfee, so we just keep disabling it.

Re: Is Header file redundant with CSH URL method?
OK, but if they're not using the numerical values, why do I need the header file? Doesn't the alias file have all the info Flare output needs to respond to the CSH call?

Save place in Lingo?
Is there any way to force Lingo to remember what file you were working on when you close/reopen a project? Other MadCap products are pretty good about this, but Lingo auto-closes any files I was in the middle of translating when I close the project.

Is Header file redundant with CSH URL method?
I've created an alias file and associated it with my target. My developers want to hook up to our CSH with a URL, so we're using the link to a text identifier model: <a href="http://my.company.com/(whatever other levels you need here to get to the help file main folder location)index.html#Topic...

Re: Flare 10.2 Hanging
FYI, in case anyone comes across this later, the culprit seems to be McAfee (what a surprise!). I'll add an update if we figure out which McAfee feature in particular is messing things up. For now, we've disabled the whole thing.

Link TOC to Browse Sequence?
Hi all,
is there an easy way to just copy my TOC and make it a browse sequence, or tell Flare to use my TOC as the main browse sequence for Next/Previous links in a target? I've looked through help and can't see an easy way to do this.

Re: Flare 10.2 Hanging
Thanks again, Todd, it seems to be an issue with this computer's setup, not a problem in any particular project. It doesn't happen on colleagues' computers, but it does happen even with new projects. Can't close the Content Explorer view or switch over to Project Organizer without it crashing. Madca...

Bundle partially-translated file?
We have some old documentation that I've brought into Flare and updated. Obviously, the old translations don't entirely match the new documentation, but about 75% is still good. I've brought the English into Lingo and entered translations for the places where it hasn't changed, but now I need to sen...

Re: Flare 10.2 Hanging
Thanks Todd, all good questions, but they don't fix it: The restore wiped out a system-wide security update that could have been the cause, but it's still hanging. No source control; all files are local on my C drive. It's happening now when creating new files as well as opening existing ones. It's ...

Flare 10.2 Hanging
I've been working in Flare 10.2 for several weeks now, and two days ago it started just hanging after opening existing projects created in 10.2. Nothing has changed on my system (no installs or updates), and the projects range from ones created by importing Word docs, those created from scratch, and...
