Re: Miss-linked TableStyle
Ah. I have felt the wrath of Microsoft .net Framework and the frustration of outputting to Microsoft Word - I will chalk this up to a similar conflict.
Thanks!

Re: Miss-linked TableStyle
Hi Nita!
Thanks - this is proving to be quite useful (progress!). I've rooted out some of the links, and hopefully will be able to root out the others.
Do you have any idea why this is happening? We're hoping to keep it from happening again in the future. : /

Thanks for the input. :)
I wasn't trying to do right pages, and I didn't exactly end up finding a resolution either (at least that explains why). One of our resident geniuses created a macro (in Word) based on of the tags we're using to insert appropriate breaks and that's how that issue got fixed ...

Default File Placement in Window Layouts?
Hi All:
I've been playing with Window Layouts, and I'm glad there's a Save feature, but I'm having trouble understanding the logic behind the window layouts.
Is there a way I can set up my windows as I want them and then ensure that when I open new files they default to the window section that I ...

Mini-TOCs not showing in print output?

I am using Flare v 9 and have Word output. I tried with a PDF target, and the mini-TOC is also not displaying.
However, when I try with .chm output, the mini-TOC is "printed", and I can follow the links to the listed topics.

Thanks, everyone. :)
I'm still trying to work through your suggestion, Tsiaris, but I'm not sure I described my issue terribly well.

Hi All:

Can I add words to TOC entries?
Hi All:
I'm working in Flare 9 and my output is to Microsoft Word.
I have h2 content set in my running heads, and also in my TOC (created via TOC proxy).

Re: Increment Header number between topics
Check out the numbering guide: http://docs.madcapsoftware.com/FlareV10/FlareAutoNumbersGuide.pdf
It take some mental gymnastics, but it sounds like you may need to create different heading 2 styles if you have two different desired numbering outputs for your heading 2s. Look at the "Chapter" and ...

Cross-referencing - Can I use a bookmark in a Snippet?
Hi All:
I was able to create a book mark in a Snippet without any difficulty. The snippet is in a topic, and there is a second topic where I want to use the cross-reference. I can locate the desired bookmark within the topic that holds the Snippet, but when it populates in the second topic, I get ...

How do you prevent a second author from checking out a file?
Hi All:
If possible, we'd like to avoid the whole "merge" scenario and have one author working on a file at a time (particularly with styles.css, etc.). Is there a setting somewhere that will force MadCap to prevent (or at least warn) the second author from checking out a file if the first author ...

Update: It seems to be something in the target. (A different target output the TOC properly.)

Snippet Conditions not displaying in output
This is weird. : /
I've been using Snippets and Conditions to take advantage of topic-level Snippet Conditions. I haven't had any problems so far.
Today, I renamed an existing for-future-use condition and added conditionalized content to a few existing snippets. On output to Word (and PDF) the ...

Hi Jason — thanks for the help.

Re: Is there a way to update TOC links automatically?
Hi Lydia, thanks for helping out.
I checked, and they are TOCs (Flare did that automatically, I presume).
I do have some of the TOCs in a folder in the TOCs folder. I don't know if maybe the distance would make a difference?

Is there a way to update TOC links automatically?
Hi All! (Back again.)
It sounds like a strange question, but let me explain.

To keep my topics in order, I've created (lets say) 5 TOCs with (lets say) 5 topics. I've created my Master TOC and dragged these 5 TOCs into it. If I update my lower-level TOC (uh ...

Re: Conditions Excluded in Target Output
LOL. I think I really figured it out this time... (it happened again).
I had a sub-TOC in my MasterTOC. The conditions worked properly after I deleted and readded the sub-TOC to the main TOC. Mildly painful, but not nearly as bad as conditioning everything via Snippet-filled topics.
