Re: Organizing Projects for an HTML5 Help System
Thanks for the reply Dave. The current structure is to have separate projects since we come from a FM background and we publish to PDF. I'm very happy to go with one big project to output to Help, it's just that I've read so many Madcap guides and there seem to me multiple ways to achieve what I nee...

Organizing Projects for an HTML5 Help System
We have traditionally created individual PDF User Guide projects for each of the several applications that make up our systems, but I'm looking at creating one overall Help System. It's normal to have two or three of these applications running at the same time. This makes the PDF approach cumbersome...

Re: Hide Title Page and TOC proxy in TOC
I just went back through the project after reading the above comments and found a 'ghost' H1 in the XML. It didn't show up on the editor view but must have been left over from the topic I created prior to making it 'Frontmatter'. Don't know if it helps, but hope so.

Re: Hide Title Page and TOC proxy in TOC
Thanks for posting this and showing me I'm not insane. I'm having the exact same problem with Flare 11 and it's a bit further down the same PDF Targets section on here.
A previous project doesn't do this, but this one does. I can't see any difference between the two.

Re: PDF Output Shows a Bookmark for my Title Page
I don't know if I'm on a different version, but the checkbox is in "PDF Output" on my version (11). Nope, it was already unchecked. I've checked through a previous project where this didn't happen, and this one where it did. Can't see any difference. It's a bit maddening as I can't think o...

PDF Output Shows a Bookmark for my Title Page
My PDF output has suddenly started to show a bookmark for my Title Page when outputting to PDF. The Reader LH bookmarks pane shows: TitlePage Chapter 1 Chapter 2 etc. Obviously I don't want that first "Titlepage" bookmark to be there (I'm presuming that comes from the Page LAbel in propert...

Tada indeed. Thanks for that. It was an embarrassingly simple fix.

TOC first then Frontmatter. Why?
I am working on a PDF user guide and got the FrontPage into a mess so decided to start from scratch. I've located the new front page in Print Only Topics and identified it in protperties as Frontmatter. The problem is that although everything formats correctly, the peinted output puts theTOC listing...

Thanks Paulie. The workaround sounds like a good plan.

Variable values in output file names
I want to use the value of a variable as part of the output file name. Specifically, I have a variable for the document revision that I want to include in the output file name, e.g. ThisUserGuide-<VersionNumnber>.pdf. Is it possible?

Re: Reorganizing Topics in the Content Explorer
Thanks Nita. I see your point(s). I guess it's a newbie thing where we want to create our document structure in the Content Explorer rather than at the planning stage before project kickoff. I'll be a good document wrangler in future and use TOCs properly.

Re: Reorganizing Topics in the Content Explorer
Actually I completely understand JBouvier's request. I've gone over to using numbers at the start of my file names to get them in what I consider to be a logical order. I guess you get used to alphabetized ordering if that's all you have, but when your TOC entry has a different title to your Content...

Using Variables in Target File Names
I'm pretty new to Flare so excuse if this is glaringly obvious. I want to use the value of a variable as part of the output file name. Specifically, I have a variable for the document revision that I want to include in the output file name, e.g. ThisUserGuide-<VersionNumnber>.pdf. Is it possible?

Re: Images Print to HTML5 but not to PDF
More night time head scratching and experimenting. If I take the same image and place it in a similar position with exactly the same attributes in a different topic of the same project, it prints to PDF ok. If I delete the original image and copy and paste the working image back in its place, it doe...

Re: Images Print to HTML5 but not to PDF
Thanks but resizing made no difference. I made the image postage stamp sized but still no output to PDF. It almost seems like a problem I had early on where I followed Flare's advice and populated a template only to find a topic I'd added wasn't being included. Nowhere in the 'add topic' help did it...

Images Print to HTML5 but not to PDF
Probably a typical newbie question but 8 hours on I can't find an answer anywhere for this. I'm using Flare 10. I'm working from the ready made template that outputs to PDF and HTML5. I've added an image as described in the guide on working with images and it appears in the project as required with ...
