Best would be to shrink the width the search bar somehow. 'fraid that the css for that is a bit beyond what I have ...

TopNav topic mini-TOC issue
Hello,
For whatever reason, the "Introduction" topic link in any mini-TOC in our new TopNav online help doesn't work.
For reference: http://help.fortinet.com/fos50hlp/54/Content/FortiOS/fortigate-whats-new-54/intro.htm

Re: Best practices for internal commenting in documents?
I'm sure this is fairly well-known by now, and this thread is somewhat outdated, but (in addition to the previous suggestions) in Flare 12 you can create a style that has a condition applied to it automatically. So whenever you use that style (in my case, p.Comment), it is automatically conditioned ...

Re: Flyout Menu Cut Off Except in IE
Well.. this is kind of terrible.. Is there a solution to this?
My flyout menu TOC is way longer than most of my topics, so the extra scroll bars just mess everything up in the flyout.

Re: Top Nav - topics not included in the TOC
Thanks again kwag_myer!
I think I've made progress and everything is coming together nicely now. I'll post a link to the site when it's "done".
For the hamburger menu to appear, I just decided to change my default 'tablet' size so it accommodates up to 1600px screens.
Cheers!

Re: Top Nav - topics not included in the TOC
One question I have: you do have a Master TOC with all the topics, correct?
I do... though it doesn't seem to be making a difference.
Here's my master page for OtherTopics.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<html xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" MadCap ...

I'm starting to think this can't be done because there is no TOC for the topics (although I am using a menu proxy with a TOC as part of a landing page for online help)...

Re: Top Nav - topics not included in the TOC
I don't think that's how it works. If you use the HTML tag to set the master page as a style ( instructions ), it should work.
Thanks for the suggestion kwag_myers. Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. When I inspect the elements in the output (in Chrome and Firefox) it says " mc-master-page ...

As a follow-up, how easy would it be to make those links open in New windows/tabs?

Hello,
We've just upgraded from Flare v10 to Flare v12, largely for its sleek Top Navigation output.

Re: Out of memory error with new cover page
The alternative you have already found is either to shut down Flare and reopen before building or often using Clean Project is enough, to get rid of all the previous temporary files from earlier builds, before building again.

Out of memory error with new cover page
For some reason, when I try to produce a PDF with our new Cover and End page, I get "out of memory" errors 99% of the time, unless I've just build the PDF immediately upon rebooting Flare.
The new cover and end page images are around 300Kb each (with a roughly 5000x6000 pixel resolution), so I ...

Does your layout file have a page with type "Empty" as well as "Right" and "Left"? I've never used the Empty Left and Empty Right page types. I generally copy the left page and delete the Body Content Frame.

Re: Target Failing to Inject Empty Pages Correctly
I'm having the same problem as Tsiaris. I've tried every suggestion I could find in the forums.
The best I could do is set my first chapter page layout to "First Left" so that at least the page numbering is on the left side to start.
Any time I try to inject an empty page so that the first chapter ...

Index text links/xrefs
Hello,
I've got an index working with page numbers as hyperlinks/xrefs (in PDF), but is it possible to get the text to also be a hyperlink/xref, so that the user can click on either the page number or the index word?
Thanks!

Hyperlinks in Image Map not working (HTML5)
As the subject says; I can't seem to get my hyperlinks to work in my output. I created the Image Map just fine, and I don't think I have any styles disabled that would otherwise affect the output.
The only thing I can think is that the image is being re-sized?
Any help is much appreciated!

Re: Variable for Custom Text on HTML5 Header
If it's not in the output, then I guess it's excluded because you're using the option Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target in your skin Advanced tab.
Yup, I think that was it! I included a reference to the stylesheet in one of the included topics and it seems to work ...
