Re: Div contents exceed page length
I already have that set. The problem is not that the content of the note is breaking across pages, it's that it's too long to fit on the page from its starting point and instead of moving to the next page it carries on anyway and falls off the bottom.

Div contents exceed page length
I have some text and an image inside <div> tags that make it into a note. In the PDF output, I expect the entire note to be on a single page (the CSS is set up this way). However, the location within the PDF is such that there is insufficient room on the page at the start of the note. Rather than mo...

Index: Natural ordering of numbers
I have several index entries that start with numbers, and I'd like these to appear in the index in natural ordering. Flare seems to use a classical alphanumerical sort by default, and I've not managed to work out how to change this. Classical alphanumerical sort: 1 10 11 12 2 20 21 3 4 5 6 7 Natural...

Re: Text wrapping in autonumbered headings [RESOLVED]
Thanks Sarrantsvt. I checked my CSS and already had offset and position defined, but had mc-auto-number-position set to float-left...changing it to outside-head sorted the issue.

Text wrapping in autonumbered headings [RESOLVED]
Some of my headings are quite long, and when they wrap the new line of text starts beneath the number rather than being left-justified with the first line of text (I don't think I'm describing it well, but I'd like the alignment to be for the text and not include the number, much as a list does in M...

Re: HTML5 search not highlighting all terms
Thanks NorthEast, that confirms what I'm seeing. Unfortunately not all the Boolean operators that search says it supports have "name " equivalents, for example, XOR does not work although ^ does. There are far too many issues with searching (we're been getting complaints from users), so I'...

Re: HTML5 search not highlighting all terms
Hi Nita, thanks for the advise. My stylesheet includes the following: span.SearchHighlight, span.SearchHighlight1, span.SearchHighlight2, span.SearchHighlight3, span.SearchHighlight4, span.SearchHighlight5 { background-color: var(--search-highlight-color); } Is there any reason why this would not wo...

HTML5 search not highlighting all terms
I am generating HTML5 SideNav output. If I perform a search on multiple terms, the results page correctly bolds any occurence of both of those terms in the displayed extracts. If I go to a page, the highlighting depends on whether I include Boolean options in my search. If I search for A B, then all...

Re: Adding hints to search field
Thanks Nita. I have already done that, I was just hoping it would be possible to make the tips visible prior to performing a search, for example, by having an information icon next to the search bar.

Adding hints to search field
I would like to include a little "info" icon for the HTML5 output's search bar that has a pop-up with search hints and tips in it. I know how to add a pop-up within a topic, but am not being successful in my attempts to translate this to the search field. I don't want to change the default...

Re: Aligning index columns when there's a "header" [RESOLVE
Can you post the details of what you did? It will help others. In the CSS, I updated the sub-heading style to use margins instead of padding. In the Project Organiser, I double-clicked on the PDF target. In the Target Editor that opened, I navigated to the Advanced tab. In the Margins section, I se...

Re: Aligning index columns when there's a "header"
Thanks Nita. I got very excited when I saw this, then I checked my PDF settings and I already have that option checked. Looking at the CSS we have used padding rather than margins. Time to play with the CSS! I wouldn't have known where to look without your advice though, so thanks again. Fiona

Re: Is there a way to have chapter titles in headers for PDF
Resurrecting rather an old topic, but I have a follow-up question. Nina's response from Mon Oct 17, 2011 7:31 pm is great. My CSS is set up in exactly that way, and it all works as it should (yay!). However, in the headers I want only the chapter name and not its number. Is there some other way of a...

Aligning index columns when there's a "header"
We have a two-column index in our PDFs. The index has sub-headings corresponding to the letters of the alphabet, and there is a vertical spacing built in to the style of these so that there's a gap above them. This is great most of the time, but on the first page of the index the two columns are not...

Single ToC, multiple PDF outputs
I need to produce multiple styles of PDF with the same ToC. Unfortunately there are a few different page layouts within each book (front cover, ToC, chapters, index, etc). From the responses in https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=31900 it looks like I'll have to replicate the ...

Re: Cross-references with different text
Thanks for confirming Nita. I thought that might be the case, I just hoped that maybe there was a cross-reference style to override with user-defined text that I didn't know about!

Cross-references with different text
I've found a few similar posts in these forums but they date back 7+ years and I'm hoping something has changed since then... I have a terminology page where definitions can link to other terms (similar to a glossary, but I can't use Flare's glossary proxy as I need functionality that it doesn't pro...

Paragraph styles identified as character styles [RESOLVED]
We've been playing with our stylesheet (I know), and although most things are now working smoothly one interesting outcome is that heading styles are now being characterised as character styles. Although the styling is applied correctly if I use HTML to apply these styles, I don't have the option of...

Insertion of # into HTML5 page URLs
I'm hoping someone knows what causes this and can help me to eliminate it... When we generate HTML5 content from one of our Flare projects a "#" character is inserted into the URL after the root (before the location of the page in the Contents directory); generating HTML5 output from a dif...

Side Nav: custominsing the hamburger menu [RESOLVED]
I've been converting a tripane output into a responsive SideNav one and have managed to get a lot of the customisation that I want working. However, I've not worked out how to customise the appearance of the hamburger menu that is displayed when viewing in a narrow screen (e.g. on a phone). I can ch...
