Re: Quiz plug-in?

There's an Israeli product called Zoomin that provides a front-end for any sort of content. I know of a dev company in the UK that could probably put a front-end together as well - let me know if you want their contact details.

Re: Best way to force footer to bottom on short topics?

ok. Is your footer in the same container div as your body content or is it in a separate one outside? I've got a complex structure and it is hard to keep track.

Re: Best way to force footer to bottom on short topics?

Thanks, I will give that a go. It looks very similar to what I tried yesterday, though, so maybe it needs something else? Do you have the body set to any particular height or min-height?

Best way to force footer to bottom on short topics?

Hi All, I've not been using Flare for a while, so have gotten a little rusty. Can anyone recommend a way of getting a footer div to behave like this: If topic is long, footer appears at bottom, off the screen (viewport). You would only see footer if you scrolled down. If topic is short, the footer a...

I've been advised to install/repair. Hopefully, it will at least let me launch R2. What a disaster of a release!

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?

What is your issue with the preview? I had the one where PDF preview wasn't working right, but there was some Adobe update to fix that or something (I didn't bother, just fixed the page breaks through trial and error). Agree, it is not a good situation re: the updates. I've been working in other pro...

Flare 2017 r2 stopped working after Windows update

I had a Windows update today and since then, Flare 2017 r2 won't launch. Flare 12 works fine. Anyone else had this issue and knows how to resolve it?

(I'm running Flare in Parallels on an iMac).

Re: 2017r2 - update or not?

I had concerns when they announced switching to agile. Every time I've worked in agile environments, it has meant more rushing to get things done and less time spent on testing and quality assurance. Considering Flare isn't exactly the most stable of products to start with, I hope this is just a bli...

Wide images on mobile - best way to handle it?

Hello everyone,

I'm working on a project that has a couple of wide diagram images that are going to be a problem on mobile displays. What is the best way to handle it on mobiles? I'm thinking thumbnails, but can they be set to landscape when selected (mobile only)?

conditions for metadata

Does anyone know if it is possible to condition in/out metadata, such as the <title> element of a topic? I need the title of the topic to be different, depending on whether it is in Product A's output or Product B's output.

Yes, I agree with Dave's post. If it is getting too messy with variables, use snippets instead. I find snippets are far more versatile.

Re: Best way to get 1:1 image size in PDF output, no scaling

The resolution of all the images is 72ppi - I set that when exporting from Adobe Illustrator (which is what I used to create the images). The images vary in size. I know I can go through them all individually and set width and height to the actual width and height of each image, but wondered if there...

Best way to get 1:1 image size in PDF output, no scaling?

Hello all, I'm creating a Flare project for online and PDF output and the images have all been created at the size needed for screen. When I build the PDF version, it seems to be scaling them up to 100% of the available width, which I don't want. There's no img width settings currently in the styles...

Re: Stop page break before H1?

I'd already checked all of the above, thanks. It was in print medium, and the style was simple .SamePage { page-break-before:avoid; }. I found out what was wrong and can't believe I didn't think of this straight-away - it was the chapter break set on the topic in the toc. It should have been set to ...

Re: Stop page break before H1?

I thought of that and included 'same page' styles for h2 etc. Doesn't seem to work. I will try with just the .samepage class and see what happens.

Stop page break before H1?

I have a document that needs to have a H1 class that has no page break before it. This is just for a couple of chapters that come at the end of the manual and have very little text in them - just required for regulations - and they can all fit on one page. I created a style h1.SamePage and set it to...

Background images + sizing

I'm having some problems with background image sizes - can anyone help? I've created styles for notes, warnings, cautions, etc and have a background image set for the icon. It works 100% fine for all but one type - an icon image that is taller than the rest (as it is two icons, one above the other)....

divs not aligning?

I wonder if anyone can shed light on this: I have a topic that has 3 sections, each section has text in the left and an image in the right. The images are all the same size and need to be aligned. I've set it up to use divs for the layout and the code is: .leftcontainer { width: 66.9%; float: left; ...

Yep, it was the stylesheet.

Why doesn't the pagelayout automatically set/override the stylesheet? That seems off to me.

Ignoring body margin and outputting at full width?

Hello, I'm working on a PDF output where the main content of the page has a 3.99cm indent from the left. I thought the easiest way to do this would be to put a 3.99cm left margin on the body frame in the page layout. It looks right in the page layout, but when it builds, the body is obviously full w...
